My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 53

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**

**Chapter 53: Luna’s Lie**

Luna stifled a giggle, her hand covering her mouth, as she looked at James with sparkling eyes. “Thank you, James. You’re really so thoughtful,” she said, her voice light with genuine appreciation.

James felt a rush of warmth flood his cheeks at her kind words. “Ah, well, those supplies I just applied for—they should arrive in a couple of days,” he replied, his tone shifting slightly as he remembered the delay. “I’m really sorry about that, Luna.”

As he spoke, a shadow crossed his face, darkening his expression. “If it weren’t for that ungrateful woman in the Traditional Medicine Department, you wouldn’t even have had to wait this long.”

Luna’s brow furrowed with concern. “James, did something happen?”

“It’s nothing to do with you,” he said, frustration evident in his voice. “It’s that little assistant named Oriana—such an arrogant little thing, refusing to hand over her share of the supplies.” His disdain for Oriana was palpable, each word dripping with contempt.

Luna’s eyes flickered momentarily, but she managed to keep her expression neutral. She knew that Oriana was not the type to settle for being just a small assistant, especially after all the effort she had put into moving from Seabar to Jindiwood. Perhaps her discontent was still simmering beneath the surface, leading her to stir up trouble.

Luna feigned a helpless look, her lips forming a pout. “So it’s her again. I didn’t expect that after all this time, I would run into her once more.”

James’s curiosity piqued as he noticed the bitterness in her tone. “What do you mean? You two know each other?” he asked, his brow furrowing in concern.

Luna forced a small smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “We’re more than just acquaintances,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Seeing the worried expression on James’s face, she felt compelled to reveal the truth. “What? Oriana has actually been your parents’ adopted daughter for over a decade? You suffered outside for so many years, finally returned home, and she’s still jealous of you?” James’s fists clenched tightly, anger boiling within him. “How dare she?”

Luna looked down, her expression one of sorrow. “It’s somewhat understandable, really. Before I came back, I was the one who was favored and pampered at home,” she explained, her voice tinged with regret.

James defended her fiercely, his voice rising slightly. “Everything that should have been yours, Oriana took your place. Without the Sterling family, who knows what kind of person she would have become? And yet, she still repays good with evil.”

“It’s fine, honestly. My parents were sad, but I’ve grown up and need to carve out my own life. I just didn’t expect that, coincidentally, both Oriana and I would apply for guaranteed graduate admission, but there was only one spot available. In her anger, she left Seabar for Jindiwood,” Luna recounted, her voice softening with understanding.

“That’s just punishment. Let someone like her be my junior? Just the thought of it makes me feel ill,” James said, his expression a mix of disgust and protectiveness.

James’s face flushed with indignation. “If I had known, I would have never allowed her to leave. I even thought Jindiwood University was beneath her!”

“James,” Luna hesitated, tugging gently at his sleeve. “Can you please, for my sake, not make things difficult for me? I’m all alone and can’t handle too much pressure right now.”

“Luna, you’re truly kind,” he replied, his heart softening at her plea.

Seeing the worry in her eyes, James let out a resigned sigh. “Alright, fine. I’ll agree to it. As long as she doesn’t cause any trouble, I won’t bother her,” he promised, though his tone still held a hint of reluctance.

“Thank you, James,” Luna said, her smile brightening the room. She then murmured, almost to herself, “I hope my coming to Jindiwood University is really just to study properly, not for any other reason.”

James frowned slightly, a flicker of doubt crossing his mind. The woman who had caused so much chaos at Seabar—could she truly behave herself at Jindiwood?

Curiosity piqued, she opened them and immediately recognized the sender.

“Oriana, I’m staying at Bearain House, Room 1409. Until I find a stable place, I’ll be here. If you want to find me, come anytime—I’ve told the front desk to leave a room card for you.”

“Oriana, I miss you so much. I have work this afternoon and can’t meet, but can we see each other tomorrow?”

“Oriana, I know you don’t want to see me. That’s fine; I can wait. Everything I said before, I’ll do. I’ll prove with actions that I truly regret it. I know my mistakes and will correct them. I won’t disappoint you.”

“Oriana, it might rain this evening. Remember to bring an umbrella.”

Rolling her eyes, Oriana couldn’t help but feel exasperated.

Why hadn’t Grant seemed so annoying before?

It was funny how, once she disliked someone, everything they did began to grate on her nerves.

She was honestly impressed—how had Grant managed to collect so many of her phone numbers?

But Oriana didn’t care. One by one, she blocked each number, determined to keep them out of her life. Out of sight, out of mind.
