Zara was already moving as she spoke, trotting straight toward Oriana.

Kenny’s face crumpled into a frown immediately. He didn’t say a word, but his body reacted instinctively as he hurried after her.
Seriously, that woman. Did she forget she was pregnant? Could she not be a little more careful?
“Zara.”
Oriana steadied her friend as they collided. “We’re okay. I had so many messages I couldn’t keep up, so instead of trying to reply, we just came straight home.”
It seemed better to talk in person rather than send a few vague texts, especially if we wanted to put the elders‘ minds at ease.
Zara looked Oriana up and down. Seeing that she was unharmed and that the usual light had returned to her eyes, she leaned in and whispered, “So, you decided to forgive him?”
Oriana instinctively glanced at Micah, who had stepped out of the car with her.
His hearing was sharp–he certainly caught that.
Sure enough, he tilted his head in their direction.
Squeezing Zara’s hand, Oriana smiled. “Actually, I never really blamed him.”
“Wow, look at those double standards,” Zara teased, bumping her shoulder against Oriana’s. “If Grant heard that, he’d be furious.”
“He isn’t like Grant.”
Oriana blinked, thinking for a moment before reaching a conclusion. “Grant lied for his own benefit. Micah… he just loves me more than I love him.”
“Oh my god, oh my god!” Zara rubbed her arms vigorously. “That is so cheesy! Oriana, you’ve changed.”
Oriana couldn’t help but laugh.
A thought suddenly struck Zara. She pouted, eyeing the way Micah was gripping Oriana’s right hand.
“I thought he could see now. Why is he holding on so tight?”
“No. There was an accident. He’s completely blind now.”
“What? How did that happen…”
By then, Noah and the others had walked over. Oriana greeted them, and when Noah saw the couple standing close together as always, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Oriana, if that brat ever mistreats you again, you have to tell me. I will stand by your side and set him. straight, I promise.”
Noah’s expression was stern and serious; he wasn’t joking. He truly intended to be her protector.
Oriana felt a surge of warmth at his words. “Noah, we’re fine now. We won’t make you worry about us again.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
Oriana nodded solemnly, making a silent promise to him.
“What about the rumors online…”
Oriana thought for a moment before answering. “There were definitely some misunderstandings earlier today, but we’ve talked everything through. In fact, I’m almost grateful for it. It helped us understand each other better.”
She turned to look at Micah, and their clasped hands tightened, fingers interlocking firmly.
Zara choked on a laugh. “Pfft. So, does that mean Grant was just part of your little game?”
She spoke her mind without filtering. “He probably spent all day celebrating those trending topics, thinking he’d finally driven a wedge between you. He was just waiting for you to break up, but instead, he pushed you right back into each other’s arms. Tsk. He’ll be furious when he finds out.”
Kenny wasted no time. “I’ll call Dad and get the Caldwell Group PR department to issue a clarification immediately.”
“Wait, don’t.”
Oriana stopped him.
Kenny froze, phone in hand. “You… you aren’t going to clear it up?”
Noah grew anxious again. “Are you two just pretending to make up to keep an old man happy?”
“No…”
Oriana laughed helplessly. Seeing how invested they all were in their relationship, she squeezed Micah’s hand and explained.
“We’ve decided to go to Meradin together for comprehensive treatment until Micah’s condition is completely stable.
Since the internet is already in an uproar, we might as well let them keep talking. If we clarify things now, people will just keep watching us, which would be more trouble than it’s worth.”
It was a decision they had reached on the drive back–though, admittedly, it was mostly Oriana who had
