My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 67

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 67**

After that, Leo’s brow knitted together, a deep furrow forming as he processed the conversation.

“Completely unreasonable,” he muttered, his voice low and filled with frustration.

“Unreasonable? That’s an understatement! She’s nothing but an ungrateful wretch, pure evil!” James spat venomously, his words laced with indignation. “I honestly can’t fathom how her parents could have possibly raised such a dreadful person! She’s trying to steal Luna’s parents, her boyfriend, and now even a spot in the research team!” His voice rose with each accusation, reflecting his anger.

Leo’s expression remained grave, as though he were weighing the gravity of James’s words.

“James, please don’t say that…” Luna interjected, her voice trembling slightly as she feigned emotion. “She has her own difficulties…” The words hung in the air, heavy with a sense of false sympathy. “She’s… quite pitiful too.”

“Pitiful? There’s a reason she’s hated! She deserves every bit of it!” James exclaimed, incredulous at Luna’s defense.

Luna shook her head, her gaze imploring as she looked at James. “James, could you please give me a copy of the application form? I’ll take it to her. She’ll be so happy.” Her eyes sparkled with a mixture of hope and determination.

“Luna! You’re being naive!” James clutched his chest as though her request pained him, disbelief etched across his face.

Yet, Luna remained silent, her steadfast gaze pleading with him.

With a reluctant sigh, James relented and handed her the form. “Here. Luna, you’re really too kind. Someone like her isn’t worth your trouble!”

But Luna accepted the form with a bright smile, her enthusiasm palpable. “As long as she can be happy, it’s all worth it,” she said, her heart swelling with a sense of purpose.

With that, she hurried out, form in hand, seemingly on a mission to find Oriana.

James could only watch her retreating figure, shaking his head in disbelief.

Leo, however, kept his eyes on Luna, his expression softening.

As expected of a child raised by such benevolent benefactors, he thought to himself. Just like them, she was kind and selfless, always seeing the good in others.

At that moment, a notification chimed in the private chat group shared by the five brothers, breaking the tension in the air.

Ethan’s message popped up, “I’ve already sent someone to investigate whether the girl who was switched with Luna and raised by the Sterling family could possibly be Niall’s real daughter.”

Another brother quickly replied, “No way? If she were Niall’s child, why did Luna say yesterday she didn’t know?”

“Exactly! Ethan, have you lost your mind from all that business? Being so suspicious… are you actually doubting that Luna might be lying to us?”

Seeing this, Leo typed decisively, “I trust Luna. She is pure and kind. She wouldn’t deceive us. Ethan, pursuing this is a betrayal of Luna’s trust.” His fingers flew across the screen, each word infused with conviction.

After a moment, Ethan replied, “Alright, maybe I wasn’t thinking it through. I’ll call the investigator back.”

Leo put away his phone and stepped into the laboratory, the air thick with unspoken thoughts.

Meanwhile, as Luna left the office, she had no intention of delivering the application form to Oriana.

With a casual flick of her wrist, she tore the document into shreds, letting the pieces flutter down into the nearest trash can.

Heh. As expected, a shabby, poor loser. Even a rushed marriage landed her with trash.

Oriana. I overestimated you. What capabilities do you have left after being cast out of the Sterling family?

This, it seems, is the life you were truly meant to live!

“Young lady, do you know her?” Noah asked, puzzled by the sudden gleam of glee in her eyes.

Despite his smile, he had noticed the disgust that had flashed across her face when she was merely asking for directions. Now, her gaze was filled with mockery and amusement.

It seemed this woman had some history with Oriana, one that was likely stained with bad blood.

Otherwise, why would she be so smug?

“You’ve asked the right person. Oriana and I are good friends,” Luna replied, her voice dripping with feigned sweetness.

Noah’s grin widened. “Really? What’s your name? I haven’t heard her mention you…”

“Oriana just arrived in Jindiwood; she’s been quite busy. If we weren’t good friends, how would I know the happy news of her recent marriage?” Luna said, adopting a kindly expression as she pointed Noah in a direction. “Look, the Traditional Medicine Department is straight down that path. But Oriana is a teaching assistant now. How can you come to see her at the university empty-handed? Coincidentally, there are peach blossom trees along the way, and the flowers are in full bloom right now. Why don’t you pick some and bring them to her? She’d be so surprised.”

Noah hesitated, uncertainty flickering in his eyes. “Is that alright? Can we just pick the flowers on campus?”

“Of course you can,” Luna reassured him, her voice smooth and inviting. “Most of the plants grown on campus have medicinal value. Students are allowed to pick them if needed. It’s fine for you to take a few.”
