My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 74

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**
**Chapter 74: A Husband’s Jealousy**

“Enough!” Oriana’s voice sliced through the air, sharp and unyielding. “If you called just to disgust me with these words, Mr. Holloway, then save your breath!”

On the other end, Grant’s voice was steady, though laced with concern. “Oriana, I simply want to care for you. I know you hurt your hand today, and you’re not familiar with Jindiwood…”

“I have family to take care of me! Your concern is completely unnecessary!” Without giving him the chance to reply, Oriana abruptly ended the call, her heart racing with irritation. The annoyance that had previously simmered now boiled over into full-blown vexation.

As she sat there, her breath coming in quick, frustrated bursts, she felt a warmth beside her. Micah had settled down next to her, a cup of warm milk resting in his hand.

“Are you unhappy?” he asked, his voice soft yet probing.

Oriana blinked, caught off guard by his perceptiveness. “You can… smell that too?” she replied, her surprise evident.

Micah pressed his thin lips together, a sign of his contemplation. “I overheard your conversation,” he admitted, his gaze steady, revealing a hint of tension.

Realizing the weight of her actions, Oriana’s voice softened. “I’m sorry, I must have disturbed you with my noise.”

“This is your home,” he reassured her, his tone sincere. “You can do whatever you wish here. However…” He paused, and Oriana felt a sinking sensation in her chest, her fingers curling into her palms unconsciously.

Turning his handsome face toward her, Micah spoke earnestly. “I’m jealous.”

The word hung in the air, heavy and unexpected. Oriana had braced herself for his dissatisfaction or perhaps some demands, but jealousy? That was a revelation she hadn’t anticipated.

Her expression reflected her disbelief, and after a moment of stunned silence, she murmured, “But… why?”

Micah’s gaze bore into hers, earnest and vulnerable. “I’m jealous because he can affect your emotions like this.”

A sudden realization hit Oriana like a wave, and she tried to speak, but the words caught in her throat, forcing her to turn away to cough.

Micah’s body stiffened, and without hesitation, his hand found the small of her back, his palm gently rubbing soothing circles to calm her. “Don’t be agitated. If you don’t want to hear it, I won’t speak of it again.”

“No, it’s… it’s not that,” she managed to say after regaining her breath, quickly explaining, “Grant is annoying, but I’m not upset about him. I was just worried about the MDT application.”

The cloud that had settled on Micah’s brow gradually lifted at her words, and Oriana could almost sense his demeanor returning to its usual gentle self. “I doubt Mr. Harris would refuse a medical professional’s desire to pursue knowledge,” he replied, his confidence reassuring.

“I’m not so sure,” Oriana said, a hint of doubt creeping into her voice. “I haven’t even met Mr. Harris yet.” She continued, “Actually, I found it strange to be assigned to the Traditional Medicine Department, as it’s not my specialty…”

Oriana was left speechless, the absurdity of a talking pet striking her as utterly ridiculous.

Micah didn’t expose her flustered state, choosing instead to maintain the light atmosphere. “Don’t worry too much about the application form. Wouldn’t it be better to ask Mr. Harris himself at school tomorrow?”

“Yes, I’ll ask tomorrow,” she replied, relieved by his suggestion. After finishing her milk and washing the cup, Oriana bid Micah a hasty goodnight, practically fleeing to her bedroom, her heart racing with a mix of emotions.

The night breeze was cool against her skin, a refreshing contrast to the warmth of their earlier conversation. Micah remained behind for a moment, waiting until the faint, sweet scent of Oriana had dissipated from the air before finally rising to return to his own room, his thoughts swirling as he pondered the complexities of their relationship.

The following day, as Oriana settled into her office, she shared her dilemma with Lily, hoping for some guidance.

“Are you looking for Mr. Harris?” Lily asked, scratching her head awkwardly. “Actually, I haven’t seen the professor in a long time either. It seems he only makes a token appearance at the start and end of semesters.”

“Is Mr. Harris… that busy?” Oriana inquired, her curiosity piqued.

“Quite the opposite,” Lily replied, spreading her hands helplessly. “Mr. Harris doesn’t supervise students, doesn’t hold a position at the hospital, and only has a titular professor position at our university. Most of his classes are general electives. Strictly speaking, he’s practically retired, isn’t he?”

Oriana couldn’t help but feel a sense of frustration at the situation. How was she supposed to move forward with her application if the very person she needed to speak to was so elusive?
