My Secret Husband Is My Cold Boss novel Chapter 23

People who actually had a sex life focused on entirely different things than those who had never even dated.

Wendy choked on her own breath at Jade's bluntness.

After a prolonged coughing fit, she rasped, "I only have the photo from our marriage certificate."

"Let me see." Jade stretched her neck forward, and the moment she laid eyes on the photo, she lost all composure and swore. "Damn!"

"He looks like this in an ID photo?!"

"Is this photoshopped???"

Wendy shook her head.

Jade understood perfectly. "Oh, well, if my blind date looked like that, I'd flash-marry him too."

"By the way, how is he in bed?"

Jade hadn't forgotten the most crucial question.

Wendy gritted her teeth and stressed, "We've only met three times!"

"Meeting once doesn't stop you from having sex."

Jade had very strong opinions on this matter. She pointed out, "You literally just said yourself that you're very satisfied with him."

"And what does that mean?"

"It means physiological attraction. You're a doctor, don't you get it?"

"Plus, you two are legally married, it's not a sham marriage. Why play the celibate roommate game?"

"Alright, that's enough." Wendy forcibly muted Jade by shoving a cookie into her mouth.

"Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself. This is a family-friendly zone, not a red-light district."

Jade giggled cheekily and swallowed the cookie.

She muttered, "He's handsome, comes from a good family, has a high salary, and is too busy to be home all the time. So far, I can't find a single flaw in this marriage."

Speaking of his family, Wendy remembered something and asked, "By the way, Jade, do you know where to buy high-end perfume?"

Even though she had lived with the Watsons for a few years, Wendy had no interest in material goods and knew nothing about fragrances.

Jade came from a wealthy background, so she would know.

"High-end perfume?" Jade thought about it. "Vintage shops, boutique buyers, or hunt for it on luxury resale sites."

Knowing Wendy couldn't wear perfume at work, Jade asked, "Who are you buying it for?"

"Sampson's mom."

Wendy explained, "She gave me a house."

Jade considered this. "If it's for an elder, you definitely need to get something premium."

Seeing Sampson staring blankly at his phone—a rare sight—he curiously stretched his neck over.

One glance was all it took.

"Whoa~"

Simon smirked. "Bro, you and my sister-in-law are pretty trendy, playing at some underground romance?"

Sampson shot him a lethal glare.

"Leave the contact info, and you can get out."

"Fine, burn the bridge after you cross it."

Simon complained, switching to his contacts to forward the digital business card Sampson had asked for.

"My friend at the notary office. Sent it."

Sampson: "Got it. Get out, Jackass."

Having enjoyed a rare, uninterrupted night of sleep in the on-call room, Wendy didn't open her eyes until her alarm went off the next morning.

Thanks to Monday syndrome, the office area was eerily quiet.

"Heading out, Chief Gates?"
