The car started.
Feeling a bit guilty about Wesley Thorne, Wendy didn't dare turn to look at Sampson's expression for quite a while.
It wasn't until the car drove out of the hospital gates that she finally pressed her lips together. Borrowing Riley's exact words, she said, "Everyone really admires you, so they bought the same outfit. You don't mind, do you?"
"I don't mind."
Sampson kept his eyes on the road. "Relax, I'm not going to yell at anyone."
The car cruised all the way to the entrance of the notary office.
Once parked, Sampson asked Wendy to grab something from the glove compartment.
"There's a clear folder in there. Grab it for me, please."
The folder was sitting right on top.
It was transparent, so when Wendy pulled it out, she couldn't help but see the title printed on the document inside: Post-Nuptial Property Agreement.
Considering they were parked right outside the notary office, the context was obvious.
Wendy looked at him. "Are we here to notarize our assets?"
"Yeah, just to notarize the property rights for those houses."
Sampson locked the car and guided Wendy toward the main lobby.
He explained, "My mother mentioned that since we already got our marriage license, simply transferring the deeds carries a legal risk of being revoked later."
Wendy's lips parted. She wanted to tell him it wasn't necessary.
But Sampson cut her off. "Wendy, since we're married, I'm not just playing house with you."
"What is rightfully yours, you should accept with peace of mind."
With that, he led her straight to one of the service windows.
Simon's friend at the notary office had already pulled a ticket for them in advance.
They didn't have to wait in line.
The application form, their IDs, their marriage certificate, and the agreement drafted ahead of time by the lawyers.
All the paperwork was flawlessly prepared.
