My Stepsister Returned To Rewrite Fate But I Became Luna (Chloe) novel Chapter 151

Kapitel 151

Chloe’s POV

As the plates crashed around her, Hannah screamed, her hands clutching her belly with trembling hands.

“I’m so sorry,” she cried. “I should not have said what I said!”

The murmurs around us were instant.

“She is holding her stomach. Is she pregnant?”

“Did you not know? The news of the second son’s pregnancy spread a while back.”

“Oh goddess. She is pregnant and the heir is not even married yet. No wonder they want to kill her child already.”

My head fell back and I let out loud laughter, hunching over until my belly hurt. “This is your trick, Hannah? To make people believe I want to kill your child?”

I stood over her, lowering my voice so only the people closest to us could hear. “Hannah, if I really wanted you or that thing in your belly dead, you would not even realize what hit you.”

For a moment, Hannah’s mask flickered and she wore an expression of genuine fear.

“Chloe, aren’t you being a little harsh?” a voice said behind me.

Donatello Regali slid in front of me and helped Hannah to her feet. They held each other modestly but anyone who was able to even slightly read body language would notice Hannah leaning slightly into him.

I looked up at Donatello. “And what makes you think that?”

“The fact that she is pregnant.” His tone lowered sharply like he was scolding me. “You should know better than to scold a pregnant woman. If something happened, what explanation would you give your Alpha?”

His words almost had an underlying hint. As if he was telling me that the plan was for something to actually happen and it would be my fault.

I glanced at Hannah, wondering if she was that stupid. So stupid to endanger herself and her unborn child just to frame me.

Before I could dwell for long on the thoughts, I dismissed them, focusing on the conversation.

Donatello took my silence as a cue to keep talking.

“She has her hormones and emotions fluctuating. You should be more gracious as her sister and the future aunt of her child-”

“Do you have a thing for butting into other family’s matters or do you do that strictly for the women you’re fucking on the side?”

His face twisted into an ugly expression and before he could open his mouth, I raised a hand to stop him.

Save it…and by that, I mean, your marriage. It is very unwise to gamble with your relationship with Miss Seraphina for…that,” I said, my gaze drifting to Hannah.

I had overplayed the spite for a reason. Now, Hannah had a legitimate way to cling to Donatello and cry and claim that I hated her so much.

If not out of anything but out of anger, Donatello would make sure to get my money involved in his shady business. I would not be surprised if he urged Hannah to go as far as stealing from me.

My smirk widened as I thought of the day everything would come to light and what the look on Hannah’s face would be like.

“Sandra, if you keep glaring at everyone like that, someone might actually piss their pants.

Sandra crossed her arms over her chest, huffing stubbornly at Riven’s words. “You think I want to be running with these spineless wolves? Ridiculous.”

I looked around.

The other Alphas and Lunas had understood the assignment and really started to socialize with each other but they avoided Everdeen and Moonflame like the plague.

It would have been better if we did not come at all.

Sandra clicked her tongue again. “Goddess. This place does not even have internet. I should have stayed back in the guest house to continue watching hot men on a-‘

“Not what I expected to hear on a first impression,” a man said behind us.

Sandra’s entire body froze, her nose flaring as she sniffed the air. Even after she had confirmed his scent, she did not dare to come back.

The man walked slowly towards us, almost seeming to blend in with the darkness around us.

He stopped in front of Sandra, bending until he was at her eye level. “You are far more adorable than I thought you would be. What was it you said about hot men?”

Contrary to what I expected, Sandra met his gaze head-on. I thought she would freak out, especially knowing who he was from his clothes.

“The least you could have done before attending the meet was wash the blood off your clothes,” she said, her hands slipping to the ropes holding his outer robes together.

He let her, more focused on watching her face. She slipped off his outer robe and let it drop to the ground. “That is much better…what should I call you, Your Highness?”

His Highness, the Assassin King, Nicola Anders. The only non-royal in history to be granted the title and power of King because of the monstrous power of his wolf.
