Chapter 9
Chloe’s POV
I slammed my hand on the table. “What are you doing here?”
She did not even live in the pack house. How did she know that Luna Diane and I were having lessons here?
Hannah twirled her hair around her finger. “It is simple training. Anyone can handle that.’
A scoff dropped from my lips. She must be feeling so confident in the shit job she did as a Luna in our past lives
I was cleaning after her messes for months.
“The fact that anyone can does not mean anyone should,” I said slowly like I was explaining to a child.
She frowned at my tone but before she could comment on it, I added. “And last I checked, this is Luna training. Do you have any thoughts of becoming Luna?”
Hannah’s eyes flashed with fury and she got to her feet, a scathing remark on the tip of her tongue. Just then, the door opened and Luna Diane stepped in.
10 am sharp.
“Hannah…” Luna Diane said, not sparing my sister a glance. “Is there another reason you are here? Or is it like Chloe says and you plan to be Luna somehow?”
What a bomb of a question. If Hannah dared answer wrong, her head could roll.
Hannah bit back her words and turned to Luna Diane with a smile, her years of charming everyone to her side coming into play.
Even if Hannah had not been a good Luna, she was excellent at keeping up appearances and relationships. Her charisma was off the charts, a skill that I would admit to be envious of.
“I willingly gave up the Luna title to my sister. Why would I ask for it back now?” she said, her voice soft, innocent. “I only want to learn so I can be able to contribute to the pack. After all, Chloe is still very young and has a lot she does not know.”
Luna Diane’s face was blank so I could not tell if she was actually buying Hannah’s story but she let her stay.
I stifled my arguments and settled in the third seat in the office.
The lesson was as much of a disaster as I thought it would be. Hannah kept trying to show me up. She would get the littlest answer to a question right and she would turn to me with a smug smirk.
“Chloe, that was a such an easy question,” she said after not giving me the chance to even speak when she rushed to answer. “Axel will need you to know more when you become his Luna.”
My fingers tightened a little about my pencil but I ignored her, feeling Luna Diane’s gaze on me.
If she let Hannah in for some kind of test against me, then I planned to pass them with flying colors.
At the end of the lesson, Hannah stood up first to pack up and knocked my stationeries to the ground. As I bent to pick them, I barely dodged as her heels nearly came down on my fingers.
I grabbed her ankle and moved her foot to an unnatural position. Her handbag and papers toppled from her hands as she fell on her butt, tripping over her own feet.

“You…” She bit down on her lip, her hands clenching into tight fists.
1 gave her one final look as I picked up everything. Bitch.

“Today, I will be giving you your first tasks,” Luna Diane said and Hannah’s eyes lit up.
She leaned forward. “Is it something related to the schools? Maybe the hospitals? That falls under the Luna’s authority, right?”
“Maybe if you shut and let me finish.” Luna Diane lifted her head, irritation evident across her face.
“Shut up and let me finish,” she stressed again, just in case Hannah thought she did not hear correctly the first time.
Hannah’s smile vanished and she shrank in her seat, falling quiet. Luna handed Hannah and I a bundle of papers
“Those are the past records for the previous distributions for the resources the pack disburses to the border,” she said. “I want you to go through them and identify any errors and give me a comprehensive report.”
I slowly flipped through the papers. Even if I pulled all nighters, the sheer volume of the data would take at least an entire week to go through.
“How long do we have until we submit?” I asked Luna Diane.
