My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 501

Seymour Marshall led Seraphina Simmons into the Innovation & Strategy Division. "Welcome our new colleague," he announced.

The applause was scattered and entirely unenthusiastic.

Seraphina didn't mind.

She simply asked Seymour where her desk was.

Considering she was a nepotism hire forced upon him by Lucian Langford, Seymour arranged for her to sit in a highly comfortable but isolated spot.

It was a complete blind spot in the office—anyone who wanted to slack off could sit there and never be noticed.

Seymour figured Seraphina had just been shoved into the company by Lucian to pad her resume and wouldn't last long.

For someone like her, he didn't need to assign any real work.

As everyone else began bustling about, Seraphina was the only one left with nothing to do.

Taking the initiative, she went to find Seymour.

Hearing the knock, Seymour called out for her to enter.

Seeing it was Seraphina, his brows knitted together. "Ms. Simmons, can I help you?"

Seraphina could see the blatant distaste in his eyes, but she was here to work, not to get into a petty squabble with him.

"Mr. Marshall, what tasks do you have for me?" she asked.

Seymour laughed inwardly.

She just had a basic bachelor's degree—there was no way he was trusting her with actual division work.

If she messed up, he'd be the one cleaning up her mess.

It was better to give her nothing so he could enjoy his peace and quiet.

"Nothing at the moment. If something comes up, I'll let you know."

"Are there any project files I can review?" Seraphina pressed.

"You want to read files?"
