My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 508

"Lucian!" Seraphina's eyes narrowed dangerously as she glared at him. "Are you hiding something from me?!"

Lucian froze, instinctively looking away.

"You promised me," she said, her voice rising in frustration. "You said no more secrets, no matter what it was."

She was genuinely getting angry.

Lucian shot a desperate look at Christian. Christian coughed awkwardly and braced himself. "The boss went back for a checkup today. The doctor said his recovery is on track, but if he wants to walk normally again, he needs to rest and absolutely cannot bear any heavy weight."

Bear heavy weight...

Seraphina's face instantly flushed crimson as she averted her eyes.

Her gaze darted around the garage before she cleared her throat. "Just... be more careful next time."

"I will."

She practically sprinted toward the car door. "Let's go, hurry up."

Watching her flee in embarrassment, Lucian couldn't help but smile.

Christian helped Lucian into the car, and they drove off toward Lyra Bay.

Along the way, Seraphina hopped out to buy the sugar-free matcha pastries.

When they arrived home, before she even unlocked the door, a tiny, excited voice echoed in her mind.

"Mommy! I sensed you're back!"

Sure enough, the moment she pushed the door open, Little Bean started babbling and squealing happily.

Susan was so startled she nearly dropped him.

Seraphina hurried over and scooped him into her arms. "Did you miss Mommy?"

"I missed you so, so much! Since that time you and Daddy disappeared, I haven't gone this long without seeing you!"

Seraphina froze, her grip tightening slightly. She looked down at his chubby, innocent little face, her lips pressing together in a tight line.

Before she could say anything, his mental voice piped up again. "Mommy, I didn't come into this world to be a burden to you. I just wanted to be by your side."
