Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 153

"I was wrong this time, but this was the only way to make you notice me. I don't regret it. If I had to do it all over again, I would! Quennel, I'm not asking for a title, I just want you to know that I love you more than Stephanie does!"

"Have you forgotten how thrilling it was when we kissed at the villa?"

"The villa was still under renovation. Yes, you were drunk that night, but you stripped me naked and had me pinned beneath you. We were just one step away. Are you going to tell me you weren't the least bit tempted?"

"If you truly felt nothing for me, why did you kiss me? Quennel, just admit it. You like the excitement I bring you, and I'm the only one who can give you that feeling."

"Otherwise, why did you take me to the hospital first when Stephanie called that night to say she'd been kidnapped? You care more about me, don't you?"

"Shut up!"

Quennel cut her off, shoving her away and standing up. "I only have Stephanie in my heart! You've been manipulating everything, deliberately trying to break us up! Victoria, you're despicable!"

Quennel turned, got back in his car, and quickly turned it around.

"Quennel! I'm hurt! Don't go!"

"You talk about being grateful to me, but you must have known from the beginning that Stephanie was the one who actually sponsored you! And how do you repay her? Victoria, you're nothing but an ungrateful wretch!"

Quennel didn't spare her another glance as the car sped away.

Victoria sat on the ground, watching the man she loved disappear before her eyes, tears streaming down her face.

Of course, she knew Stephanie was her benefactor. She had always known.

She had just pretended not to in front of Quennel.

Just then, Dave and the cripple emerged from a nearby corner.

"If Stephanie hadn't sent the money in time to sponsor my education, which you also profited from, I'd probably have several kids by now, stuck back in that village."

"You ruined my life, why should I give you any money? I was only seventeen when I was forced to sleep with this man old enough to be my father!"

Knowing he was in the wrong, Dave didn't want to argue further and started dragging Victoria away.

Victoria struggled, and in her desperation, she dug her long nails mercilessly into his eyes.

The world went white for Dave as he cried out in pain, blood trickling from his eye socket. He was forced to let her go.

Ignoring his injury, Victoria scrambled to her feet and ran.

The cripple tried to give chase, but with his bad leg, he was a step too slow.
