Chapter 539 The Wrong Inherited Memory
“Why did you kill him?” Silas asked.
Hearing his question, Remy immediately lowered his head in guilt,

Silas‘ gaze hardened further at his reaction. He could tell from Remy’s reaction that the boy knew killing was wrong, but he did it, nonetheless. Moreover, Remy had only just gained human form but could already kill a Rank 8 therian.
Such strength and talent… If not properly guided, his future would be a disaster.
“Speak!” Silas‘ voice grew even stricter. The next moment, a massive vine shot up from the ground, wrapping around Remy’s ankles and hoisting him into the air.
“Daddy…” Remy looked at Silas in panic, his deep–blue eyes quickly filling with tears. “I’m scared!”
“Scared?” Silas sneered. “You’re my son. I know exactly what’s going through your mind. Don’t try to fool me. Answer my question. Why did you kill him?” He doubted that Remy was scared of being suspended in the air when he had just killed someone without hesitation.
Seeing that playing cute wouldn’t get him anywhere, Remy let out a small sigh. He looked at Silas with a pout and said matter–of- factly, “I was helping you. I sensed your intent to kill that person. You would have done it yourself, and I was just helping you out. What’s wrong with that?”
Silas was stunned by his words. He couldn’t believe that Remy asked him what was wrong with this.
A child who had just taken human form, completely naive, whose first action upon opening his eyes was to kill, and even boldly asking if it was wrong?
Seeing Silas‘ expression darken, Remy continued, “I don’t think I did anything wrong. Even if I didn’t kill that person, you would have. What’s the difference between that?”
His face was calm, far beyond what a child of his age should naturally display.
“Daddy, do you think you can kill others because you are an adult and I can’t because I’m a child?”
Listening to Remy’s words, Silas was bewildered. His mind–the same mind that could manipulate everything and make the best decision in any danger in an instant–stalled for the first time.
He looked at Remy, and Remy looked back at him.
“Daddy, I didn’t do anything wrong. I was just helping you.”
For several seconds, time seemed to freeze. Then, Silas stepped forward, his fingers pressing against Remy’s forehead.
Even a highly gifted newborn child would normally only possess fragments of inherited memory, enough to know their species and how to survive. Nothing could prepare them to have such clear logic and a moral framework that defied conventional rules, unless something was wrong with the inherited memory.
In that split second, a massive wave of energy flowed into Remy’s body.
Remy looked at Silas and showed no resistance at all.

Chapter 539 The Wrong Inherited Memory
When Silas found Remy’s inherited memory, he was stunned.
“How can this be?”

The memories Remy inherited were those of Silas‘ own time at the Imperial Command Department–the darkness, schemes, bloodshed, and betrayal…
Silas‘ gaze trembled as he looked at Remy.
Remy was experiencing these memories as if reliving them. A newborn who had just taken human form, equipped with memories that even Silas himself had taken years to endure and master, yet lacking the strong mind and self–control Silas had to wield such dark power. Hence, Remy could not conceal his killing intent and violence under a calm exterior, nor could he judge these actions by conventional morality.
In Remy’s world, the logic was simple. If Silas wanted to kill someone, it meant that the person was bad. Thus, him helping Silas to kill that person was right. Therefore, Remy didn’t think killing Leighton was wrong.
“Daddy, I didn’t do anything wrong,” Remy said again.
Silas looked at Remy’s calm face, the deep–blue eyes held no childish innocence but only absolute confidence in their own logic- just like him.
At that moment, Silas felt he was not looking at a child, but at a smaller version of himself–a pure, unrestrained, uncontrolled version of himself.
At that moment, chills ran down his spine.
As his thoughts shifted, the vine trapping Remy immediately transformed into a soft bed, restraining Remy’s body so he couldn’t
move.
Remy looked at Silas‘ action without a hint of fear. His eyes, so like Silas‘, remained calm. He didn’t sense the slightest killing intent from his father. He only tilted his head to the side and asked curiously, “Daddy, are you taking me to see Mommy like this?”
