Noelle studied the photograph. "Everyone in the Merlock family was there?"
Mia nodded. "Yes, all of them."
Noelle glanced at the group photo and the banner beside it. "Why does this renewable energy project seem familiar?"
Mia hummed. "Have you heard of it? It's an old project.
"The Merlocks made a lot of money from it, which helped them break into the elite circle. Unfortunately, they haven't had any major successes since then and have been living off their past achievements."
Noelle shook her head. "I can't remember. I'll look into it later."
Something about this project bugged her. She felt like she had heard of it before but couldn't recall where. Was it from her past life? Either way, it unsettled her.
A week later, the AI project prototype exhibition took place. Noelle entered the venue with her colleagues, helping with the setup and initial testing.
"Is this Maple Enterprise's newest prototype? It looks exactly like Liddell Corporation's new model. Don't tell me you copied us?"
Xenia strode over arrogantly and began inspecting the product. She felt a pang of regret. If only they had destroyed Maple Enterprise's prototype earlier, Noelle wouldn't have been able to present anything today, but the plan failed.
Noelle stepped closer and muttered lowly, "Did you try to destroy our prototype just to copy it? You might have copied the appearance, but you can't copy the technology. A fake is always a fake, just like you."
Xenia gritted her teeth. "What a shame that you didn't die in the fire."
Xenia cursed to herself. Why was Noelle so hard to kill? But Noelle's days were numbered. Xenia can't wait to see how desperate Noelle will become once the Liddell family goes bankrupt.
Noelle smirked. "Are you admitting that Liddell Corporation was behind it?"
