Noelle held her phone, and it was as if all the surrounding noise had faded away.
"What is it?" Cedric's voice was as deep and magnetic as ever.
Noelle hesitated. "Are you free right now? I need your help with—"
"I'm free." Cedric cut her off. He abruptly ended his meeting, rising from his seat and heading outside.
There was a hint of urgency in his voice. "Where are you? I'll come over right away."
Noelle sighed. "I'm at the prototype exhibition. There's an issue, and I can't reach Alfred, so I had no choice but to call you."
"Alright, don't worry. I'm on my way." Cedric glanced at the people who had followed him out of the meeting room and ended the call. "I have something urgent to take care of."
The person was baffled. "But, sir, the meeting isn't over yet."
"You can handle it. Follow through with what we discussed. If they don't agree, let it go." With that, Cedric strode out without hesitation.
Noelle stared at her phone. Today's mess wouldn't end easily as long as Cedric was involved, so she sent him a message briefly summarizing the situation.
Right now, she couldn't step away to investigate whether Donovan's patent was real or not. But if it was Cedric, he would be able to find out the truth in no time.
"What are you doing?! Don't touch our prototype! Are you going to take responsibility if you break them?"
Upon hearing the commotion, Noelle turned to see some of her colleagues being pushed aside.
