If Noelle ended up with Cedric, the Liddell family's status would naturally rise. That would give Xenia access to more wealthy connections and maybe even a chance to steal Cedric away.
Before she could fantasize further, Noelle stepped forward and slapped her. Xenia immediately burst into tears. "Noelle, I'm saying this for your sake!"
Noelle scoffed. "You know exactly what you're up to. Do you really think every man will fall for your tricks?"
Xenia wiped her tears, putting on a pitiful act. "Noelle, I have a fiance. How could I possibly have any thoughts about Mr. Greene?"
Then, she turned to Cedric. "Mr. Greene, Noelle has always had a bit of a temper. Please don't misunderstand her."
Her sweet tone made Noelle's blood boil. Cedric only chuckled at Noelle's irritation. So, she did care about him after all.
He stepped beside Noelle and fixed Xenia with a cold stare. "Noelle is absolutely right. If you're this good at acting, you should go into show business. Do you think I'm a fool?"
Xenia stiffened. "It was all just a misunderstanding…"
"Xenia, come here! Stop groveling. We all know Noelle just wants to humiliate us," Wyatt called out, trying to drag her away.
But the moment he moved, his artificial leg gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor, his prosthetic detaching completely.
Noelle smirked. "Seems like your company's products are garbage after all. Even a romantic sob story won't cover up the poor quality."
Wyatt looked toward Xenia. "Xenia, help me up!"
For a split second, disgust flashed through Xenia's eyes, but she still walked over and helped him. She turned back to Noelle. "This isn't a quality issue! Wyatt just isn't fully used to it yet. Don't talk nonsense."
Noelle eyed Wyatt. "I see you're quite sturdy."
