“Ms. Harlow, any instructions?”

Amelia raised her hand and pointed directly at Ethan, whose expression already darkened.
“Please escort Mr. Rowe out. I don’t want to see him again.”
The bodyguards exchanged a glance. Without the slightest hesitation, they stepped forward and gestured politely but firmly. “Mr. Rowe, this way, please.”
“You-” Ethan couldn’t believe his eyes. “Amelia, how dare you throw me out?!”
Amelia turned and refused to look at him again, leaving him only a cold, indifferent profile.
Escorted by the two tall bodyguards, Ethan was forced out in the most humiliating way he had ever experienced.
Being kicked out by his wife like that was an insult he had never endured before.
When he returned to the villa, his dark mood lingered.
The suffocating, stay–away–from–me vibe around him made every maid in the villa tense, terrified that one wrong move might set him off.
Ethan couldn’t understand how things had turned out this way.
He had clearly done what she wanted. The police had investigated the case and proved that
Hannah and Isla were innocent.
He had even lowered himself, willing to tolerate all of Amelia’s past tantrums. He just wanted her to soften up and apologize so they could move forward.
But what did she do?
She didn’t show a shred of gratitude, stabbed him with the word divorce, and even had bodyguards throw him out!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He just wanted to vent somewhere.
Hannah came out of the kitchen at the right moment, carrying a cup of freshly brewed stress- relief tea.
She wore simple, elegant loungewear, her face showing the perfect hint of concern.
“Ethan, welcome back,” she said softly, placing the cup on the coffee table. “You don’t look well.

Is it … Ms. Harlow? Is she still upset?”

She carefully watched his expression, her voice filled with guilt. “It’s all my fault. If it weren’t for Isla and me, none of this would have happened. How about I take Isla to the hospital tomorrow and apologize to her? As long as she calms down, it doesn’t matter how harsh she is toward us.”
Ethan glanced at her.
Just hearing Amelia’s name gave him a headache now.
“No need,” he said coldly. “She doesn’t want to see me, let alone you.”
Frustration seeped into his voice without him realizing it.
Though he was furious at Amelia’s stubbornness and ingratitude, the image of her lying weakly in that hospital bed still pierced his heart.
More than anyone, he wanted her to get better.
He took a sip from the teacup. The slight bitterness seemed to ease some of his anger.
Looking at Hannah, he said, “Listen. For now, don’t go to the hospital. Let her be alone. Once she recovers, her temper will naturally ease.”
“Alright, I understand.” Hannah nodded obediently. But as she looked down, a sharp glint of calculation flashed in her eyes.
Don’t let me see her, huh?
There was no way she’d miss the chance to rub salt in Amelia’s wound while showing off her generosity.
The more Ethan forbade her, the more determined she was to go.
She wanted to see Amelia helpless and miserable.
The next morning, Hannah dressed up carefully.
She picked a well–tailored off–white dress and applied light makeup. Without telling Ethan, she went to the hospital alone.
She’d imagined countless scenarios, rehearsed endless lines, all to highlight her grace and generosity in contrast to Amelia’s stubbornness.
But all her plans crumbled at the ward door, where two black–clad bodyguards stood like silent sentinels.
