Chapter 192 He Invites Her

“As long as you like it, Edison. Those were just small sketches, not meant for a big stage. I drew them for fun.” Hannah quickly downplayed it, her tone sincere. “That style is too niche. It wouldn’t suit a nationwide competition.”
“You’re right.” Edison nodded, thinking for a moment.
Even though she’d turned down the judging invite, she’d been in the industry long enough to understand the backstage politics of those contests.
“Hannah, let me be honest with you.” Edison lowered her voice. “This so–called newcomer design competition? Most of the time, it’s purely for show. It exists to give certain companies‘ chosen newbies a boost. Real talent has a hard time breaking through. Honestly, the winners are usually decided ahead of time.”
Hannah’s heart skipped a beat. That had been her biggest worry.
But Edison shifted her tone. “Don’t stress too much. I can’t go, but I know a few people on the organizing committee.
“How about this? I’ll set up dinner and introduce you to them. Just be charming and do a little networking. That’ll help more than making 100 dresses ever could.”
Hannah had been waiting for that line.
“Really? Edison, you … you’re so kind!” Her voice trembled with gratitude, as if she’d just been granted a huge favor. “I don’t even know how to thank you!”
“Hey, no need to be formal,” Edison said, pleased. “You’re Mr. Rowe’s girl. Helping you is the least I can do. Consider it done–just wait for my call.”
“Hmm! Thank you, Edison!”
After hanging up, Hannah let out a long, satisfied breath. Excitement coursed through her.
With Ethan’s support and Edison’s connections, her path to success suddenly seemed wide
open.
She went to her vanity and looked at her still–stunning face in the mirror.
If she won, she’d step into the spotlight as a genius designer.
Then, she wouldn’t need to rely on Ethan and hide in the shadows.
As for Amelia?

A cold, cruel smile tugged at Hannah’s lips.
Amelia was stuck in a hospital bed, quietly recovering and out of the public eye. How could she ever compete with her now?
Meanwhile, Amelia was enjoying an unusually quiet afternoon at the hospital.
Her body had been recovering steadily over the past few days. The wound on her back was closing, and though her leg was still in a cast, the pain was easing.
Most importantly, her heart had started to settle after keeping her distance from Ethan and Hannah.
Just then, Tim arrived.
“Mr. Clem.” Amelia looked surprised, trying to sit up.
“Easy, easy.” Tim hurried over with a smile. “Feeling better?”
“Much better. Thanks for coming.” Amelia smiled softly.
After a few polite words, Tim got straight to the point.
Pulling a brochure from his briefcase, he handed it to her.
“Take a look at this. Interested?”
Amelia took it in confusion, then froze as she read the bold title–Starlume Cup Newcomer Design Competition.
It was hosted by Rowe Group.
Her emotions were tangled.
She looked at Tim, puzzled. “Mr. Clem, what do you mean?”
His gaze gleamed with savvy. “I know what you’re thinking, but don’t get me wrong. I’m not asking you to compete.”
