No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I’m Done!
Chapter 255 Except
Ian’s message couldn’t have been clearer. If you’ve got nothing to hide, why react like this?
Hannah choked on his words. Her face went pale, then flushed.
As for Ethan, once the shock wore off, he slowly calmed down.
He began to feel that Amelia’s worries … weren’t completely unreasonable.
She was still angry about being pushed down the stairs by a maid in her own home.

If, at a moment like this, something she owned–something he had given her–really went missing, even just one item, then with her cold, stubborn temper, she might very well bring up divorce again, just like last time.
He couldn’t let things reach that point.
“That’s enough,” he said coldly, cutting off Hannah before she could say more.
Then he turned to Ian and lifted his chin slightly. “Come with me.”
With that, he led the insurance staff straight upstairs.
Left behind, Hannah stood frozen in place. It felt like half the blood in her body had turned cold.
Ethan hadn’t defended her at all. He had chosen to go along with Amelia’s plan instead.
Guilt twisted in her chest, but even stronger was her resentment.
Clenching her teeth, she hurried after them.
She wanted to see for herself what Amelia was really trying to pull.
The door opened.
The men filed in.
When Hannah saw one of the insurance staff pull out a printed list from his briefcase, her heart skipped hard. Oh no!
“There’s a list too?” she blurted out. “Does Amelia even remember how many things she has in her own room?”
Ian glanced at her with the look one gives someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking

about. His reply was calm and unhurried. “Not exactly. Ms. Harlow doesn’t claim to remember everything. This list only includes the items she specifically asked us to pay close attention to.”
way down.
Hannah’s heart sank all the
Pay close attention?
Isn’t that basically telling everyone these were the items most likely to go missing?
The insurance staff ignored her after that and moved with quick, professional efficiency.
Two people handled the checklist, while another took photos to document everything.
They headed straight for the large walk–in closet and began checking the items one by one, matching them to the list.
Every time a name was read out loud, Hannah’s face grew paler.
She stood at the doorway, watching them open velvet boxes with practiced ease. Her palms were slick with cold sweat. She felt like someone waiting to be exposed, standing under a harsh light with nowhere to hide.
Ethan stood off to the side, his face unreadable as he watched.
Then he noticed how bad Hannah looked. He frowned slightly and stepped closer, lowering his voice. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick?”
Hannah jumped, startled. She shook her head quickly. “No … it’s not that. I just feel like Amelia is doing this on purpose. Like she’s aiming at me, treating me like a thief…”
“She’s not,” Ethan cut in coldly. “You’re overthinking it. This has nothing to do with back to your room.”
To him, Hannah was making a big deal out of nothing.
you. Go
What mattered right now was settling this fast and keeping Amelia from getting any angrier than she already was.
His blunt dismissal hit Hannah right in the chest. She stayed where she was, stubbornly refusing to move.
Her eyes stayed locked on the staff’s hands as she silently prayed, over and over.
About half an hour later, the inventory was nearly done.
Ian used a tablet to quickly generate a digital report, then walked over and handed it to Ethan.

“Mr. Rowe, most of the items on the list are here. Nothing appears to be missing. Except…”
He continued, “The last item on the list. The limited–edition handbag you gave Ms. Harlow last year. We didn’t find it in the closet.”
Ethan’s eyes dropped to the screen. The red marker made his pupils tighten.
He remembered that bag.
Last year, Amelia had led a design proposal that secured a long–term deal worth nearly a billion for one of the Rowe Group’s subsidiaries.
To reward her, he had someone acquire a globally limited pink handbag.
It was expensive. Flashy, too.
Yet Amelia had never carried it. Not even once.
He had been annoyed back then, thinking she didn’t appreciate his effort, that she didn’t take him seriously.
And now, that bag was gone.
His brow pulled tight. He looked up at Ian, his voice sharp enough to chill the room. “Where did it go?”
“Uh… we don’t know,” Ian said, spreading his hands. “That’s beyond our scope.”
Just then, Hannah shook her head and said sadly, “I think … it must’ve been Elodie. She probably took it out and sold it.”
“Elodie stole it?” Ethan’s voice carried clear doubt. “Since when has she ever had sticky fingers?”
