No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I’m Done!
Chapter 254 Inventory
With Amelia’s stubborn streak, how could she possibly compare to me?
At least, that was what Hannah believed. But the joy didn’t last long.

Back in her room, Hannah opened her closet. Inside were dresses and jewelry that were expensive by normal standards, but next to a true high–end gala, they felt lacking. Her brows drew together.
No. These aren’t enough.
Standing beside Ethan, she had to be the brightest person in the room. She couldn’t fade into the background. She definitely couldn’t lose to Amelia.
Even if Amelia wasn’t going to be there.
The thought made her think of Amelia’s room.
That room was filled with custom gowns and rare, one–of–a–kind jewelry.
Since Amelia doesn’t use them anyway, what’s wrong with borrowing a few?
Hannah’s mind started racing again.
She had already used one of Amelia’s bags and gotten a taste of how good it felt. Her nerves were gone. Her courage had grown.
She decided it. Tomorrow night, she would use Amelia’s things to carry herself through the
event.
With her plan set, Hannah fell asleep wearing a satisfied smile.
What she never expected was that the next morning, Ethan didn’t leave early for work. Instead, he was in the dining room, having breakfast.
Hannah was dressed neatly, sitting across from him.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Miles went to answer it. Moments later, he returned with several men in suits, all serious–faced.
The man in front looked to be in his 30s. He wore gold–rimmed glasses and had a sharp, professional aura.
He scanned the room, then fixed his gaze on Ethan. He stepped forward slightly and handed

“Good morning, Mr. Rowe. We’re from Angus Asset Protection. We were hired by Ms. Amelia Harlow to inventory and secure her personal property.”
Ethan glanced at the card. His face darkened at once. “She’s not even coming back,” he said coldly. “Inventory what?”
Beside him, Hannah’s heart dropped. A bad feeling crept up fast.
Ian Hugger didn’t react to Ethan’s tone and continued calmly, “This is the situation, Mr. Rowe. Ms. Harlow said that since the maid in this house once dared to hurt her, it’s not impossible that while she’s away, valuables from her room could be taken and sold.
“So to be safe, she asked us to carry out a full asset record and protection process.”
The words were calm and measured, but they landed like a hard hit.
He spelled it out for Ethan in the clearest way possible. His wife had been hurt in his own home. By the maid in his house.
And he, as her husband, had failed to protect her.
Ethan’s expression darkened.
“What does she mean by this?” he asked.
Ian didn’t seem to notice the cold pressure in the room at all. He even gave a polite, understanding smile, as if he’d expected this question.
“Please don’t misunderstand, Mr. Rowe. Ms. Harlow doesn’t mean anything else by it. She only made one point very
clear…”
He paused. A sharp glint flashed behind his glasses. “She emphasized that many of the items in her dressing room were personally chosen and given to her by you. They matter a great deal to her, so nothing can be allowed to go missing.”
Silence fell.
Ethan froze.
They matter a great deal to her?
Hearing those words from someone else, then picturing Amelia’s distant, quiet face, felt deeply ironic. And yet, somehow, they struck a nerve he hadn’t realized was there.
He wanted to argue. He wanted to snap back. He wanted to throw these people out of his house.

But not a single word came out.
Hannah, however, couldn’t just sit there and watch this happen.
If these people really went through Amelia’s things and locked them all away, how was she supposed to use any of them later?
She had worked so hard to secure her spot as Ethan’s date for the gala. Was she supposed to show up looking dull just because she didn’t have the right dress or jewelry?
Seeing the tight line of Ethan’s jaw ease slightly, as if he were about to give in, Hannah finally couldn’t hold back. She stood up and hurried to his side, her face filled with carefully measured shock.
“Ethan, is … isn’t this a bit much?” Her voice trembled just enough. “We’re family. What does she mean by this? Does she really think that just because she’s not here, everyone in the house would steal from her?”
The moment she finished speaking, Ian turned his eyes on her.
“Miss, you’re being a bit harsh,” he said evenly, his tone flat and calm. “But that’s not for us to judge.”
Then he added, without a hint of emotion, yet cutting straight to the point, “After all, by our understanding, anything Mr. Rowe gave Ms. Harlow would be worth quite a lot. Inventory and protection are simply precautions. They’re meant to guard against people with bad intentions and have nothing to do with anyone else.”
