Chapter 263 The Spotlight

Following Dylan’s gesture, Hannah looked toward a relatively quiet corner of the ballroom.
A group of young faces had gathered there. Talented, no doubt, but at this moment, they all seemed a little stiff, a little out of place.
They were part of the event’s scenery, observers of the real high society.
As Hannah walked over with the well–respected Dylan, the designers who had been quietly chatting all turned to look.
When they realized she was personally introduced by one of the judges, their gazes instantly filled with unmistakable envy.
Feeling all those admiring looks, the sting of being ignored by Ethan earlier vanished completely.
Her confidence came rushing back.
With Dylan’s introduction, Hannah slid effortlessly into the small circle of competing designers -and quickly became the center of attention.
Any sense of awkwardness or being out of place she had felt just moments ago disappeared, replaced by the spotlight of admiration.
“Ms. Gray, it’s an honor! I didn’t expect someone so young and beautiful,” said a male designer in black–rimmed glasses, a little eager to please.
Another female designer’s eyes wandered over her as she asked, curious, “Ms. Gray, which company are you representing? I don’t think I’ve seen you in the industry before.”
Exactly the question Hannah had hoped for.
She lifted her delicate chin, smiled sweetly, and answered softly, “I’m still a newcomer, actually. This time, I’m representing Rowe Group, mostly to learn from the more experienced. designers.”
“Rowe Group!”
The words barely left her lips before a small ripple went through the surrounding designers.
Their expressions shifted.
Rowe Group wasn’t just any company–it was the top leader in the industry.

And she had come with Dylan, a respected judge. Seeing the two of them together, it was clear their connection ran deep.
A newcomer backed by an industry giant and personally connected to a judge…
That was basically announcing to everyone that she had powerful support behind her.
The room buzzed with mixed feelings. Envy was there, yes, but also a hint of caution.
Maybe the winner of this competition was already decided–and this smiling Hannah might just be the chosen one.
Even if jealousy pricked at their hearts, no one would be foolish enough to show it on their faces.
Instead, they swarmed around her like bees drawn to flowers, eager to talk to her, as if just getting a word with her was a privilege.
“So you’re a rising star from Rowe Group! It’s great to finally meet you.”
“Ms. Gray, you’re far too modest. With talent like yours, experience barely matters.”
Surrounded by such praise, Hannah felt a thrill of satisfaction she had never known.
She soaked in the attention, the admiration, and the flattery, feeling on top of the social world.
But just as she was reveling in it, a stir broke out at the entrance of the ballroom.
Her spotlight was snatched away. Frowning, she followed the crowd’s gaze. “What’s happening? Did some important guest just arrive?”
A designer who had been fawning over her craned his neck to look, then leaned back with a mix of gossip and excitement. “Doesn’t look like it… I heard it’s Mr. Clem from Stardale Group, bringing some of their designers.”
Stardale Group?
Alarm bells rang in Hannah’s mind.
She had definitely heard of them.
Though a relatively new company, rumors in the industry spoke of a mysterious backer—
Mason.
With deep pockets and endless connections, Stardale had shown amazing potential in a short

She had finally claimed everyone’s attention here–there was no way she could let some unknown Stardale designer steal the spotlight.

Her competitive streak flared. Pushing through the crowd, she lifted her dress and strode toward the entrance.
She had to see who exactly Stardale had sent.
But the moment she reached the opening and saw the scene, it was as if lightning had struck. She froze.
Under the sparkling crystal chandelier stood Tim, dressed in a crisp white suit, exuding charm as he courteously guided the lady at his side.
And that woman, carefully supported by a young assistant, immediately drawing every eye in the room…
It was Amelia!
