Chapter 315 Henry Dollar
Amelia’s heart skipped a beat.
“Who is it? Sounds urgent,” Lily asked, leaning over curiously as she heard the ringtone.
“… Mason,” Amelia said, her tone somewhat complicated.
She gestured to Lily. “I’ll take this outside.”

Phone in hand, she weaved through the noisy crowd and stepped into the quieter outdoor walkway of the bar.
The night breeze of the old town was cool. It brushed against her face and cleared her slightly heated mind.
She took a deep breath and answered.
“What’s up, Mason?”
There was a brief silence on the other end.
Then Mason spoke in a casual, calm tone. “Nothing serious. You didn’t text me after you arrived, so I called to check if everything went smoothly.”
Amelia paused. Only then did she remember that at the airport, he had asked her to message him once she was settled.
But after arriving in Lingchers, she had completely forgotten.
“Sorry… I forgot,” she admitted honestly. Then she noticed the background noise on his end sounded just as loud and asked without thinking, “It’s pretty noisy there too. Are you at a bar?”
“Too?” His voice lifted slightly, catching the word.
Amelia realized she had misspoken.
To avoid any misunderstanding, she explained right away, “Yeah. Lily and I went to a bar in the old town after checking into the hotel. We’ll head back soon.”
Mason hummed in response. The tension in his voice seemed to ease a little. “Be careful when you head back. Stay safe.”
After a brief pause, as if returning her honesty, he added, “I’m with Tim. No one else.”
Amelia’s smile had barely started to form when a sweet, lively female voice suddenly came through the line.
“Mason, Mr. Clem? What a coincidence. You’re here too?”
The familiarity in that voice was clear.
Mason paused.
“I ran into someone I know,” he said. “I’ll stop here. Text me when you get back.”

Chapter 315 Henry Dollar
Before Amelia could reply, the call ended.
Amelia held her phone tightly.
A wave of irritation washed over her, sharp and hard to explain.
Who was that woman just now?
Why did her voice sound so familiar?
And why had he hung up so fast?

One question after another spun through her head, stirring up the calm she had just managed to regain.
She stood there for a while before pushing the feelings down. Then she turned back toward the bar, stopping by the restroom on the way.
After she came out, she took the dim hallway back toward their booth.
Just then, a tall figure hurried toward her from the other direction.
She wasn’t paying attention, and they almost collided.
“Careful!”
Luckily, the man reacted fast. He twisted his body aside just before she ran into him.
But the sudden move sent his elbow slamming into the wooden wall with a dull thud.
“Ugh…” He let out a low, pained sound.
He was dressed in black casual clothes, a black baseball cap pulled low, and a mask covering his face. Everything about him was hidden.
“I’m sorry!” Amelia startled and apologized right away. “I wasn’t watching where I was going. Are you okay? Did you hit your arm?”
He didn’t answer her. Instead, he quickly glanced past her, eyes sharp and alert, like he was checking for
someone.
“I’m fine,” he said at last. His voice came through the mask, low and rough.
Without another word, he pushed open the emergency exit beside them and hurried out. In seconds, his figure disappeared into the night.
Amelia stood there, staring at the door as it slowly swung shut. Something felt off.
That guy… was strange.
It was like he was hiding from someone.
She shook her head and didn’t think about it anymore, turning back to her seat.

The moment she sat down, Lily waved at her excitedly and leaned in, lowering her voice. “Amelia! Guess what I just heard from the table next to us? They said a superstar is here tonight! Henry Dollar is in this bar! My god! Do you think we might run into him? Maybe get a photo or an autograph?”
“Henry Dollar?” Amelia frowned. The name meant nothing to her. “Who’s that?”
“Wow, girl, you’re so out of touch! He’s the hottest superstar right now. Everything he acts in becomes a hit. He sings well, looks amazing, and has millions of fans!”
She quickly pulled up a photo on her phone and held it out in front of Amelia. “Look. That’s him. Isn’t he handsome?”
The picture showed a very young man with sharp, good looks. He had short silver–gray hair, deep–set eyes, and a high nose bridge.
The corner of his lips curved slightly, confident and wild.
He had exactly the kind of bad–boy handsome look that girls went crazy
for.
