He turned his head. Hidden in the shadows, those charming eyes seemed fixed on her as he added slowly, “Since you hurt me, you can give me a ride back to my hotel. Call it compensation.”
Amelia was completely speechless at how confident he sounded.
She thought back. When he dodged her earlier, his elbow really had hit the wall, and he had let out a muffled groan.
But still… did that really count as her fault?
For a moment, she had no idea how to argue. She could only look toward Lily in the front seat, asking for help with her eyes.
By then, Lily’s expression had gone from surprise to pure shock.
She had clearly recognized him too.
Her hand trembled as she lifted it, pointing at Henry. Her mouth opened, but she was so stunned that no sound came out.
Just as the car fell into a strange, tense silence, loud voices and screams suddenly rose outside the window, rushing closer.
“He’s over there! I saw him run this way!”
“Henry! Is that Henry?”
“Go! Don’t let him get away!”
A swarm of young people poured in from the direction of the bar, phones held high. Camera flashes exploded in the night.
Yeah, Henry being here was fully exposed.
All three people in the car changed expression at the same time.
Even the driver looked shaken.
Henry spoke again. “Miss, you look like a kind person. You’re not really going to hit–and–run, are you?”
As he spoke, he rolled up the sleeve of his left arm right in front of Amelia and Lily.
With the light spilling in through the window, Amelia clearly saw a scrape on his pale forearm.
It wasn’t big, but against his flawless skin, it stood out like a sore thumb.
Amelia knew that in a situation like this, forcing him out of the car would be heartless.
Reporters could easily be mixed in with the crowd. If things blew up and dragged her and Lily into it, it would only get worse.

After weighing the pros and cons, she had no choice but to give in.
“Where’s your hotel?” she asked.
Seeing her back down, the corner of Henry’s mouth seemed to lift beneath his mask.
He named the most luxurious five–star hotel in Lingchers.
Amelia said nothing more and simply told the driver, “Please drive.”
The driver looked relieved. He stepped on the gas, leaving the chaos and screaming far behind.
Inside the car, it fell quiet again.

Lily finally snapped out of her shock. She grabbed the seat, leaning forward in excitement. Even so, she forced herself not to say his name, whispering instead, “Amelia… he’s real!”
Amelia shot her a warning look. Calm down.
Lily took a few deep breaths, cleared her throat, and pulled herself back into work mode. Still, her curiosity showed as she spoke to Henry in the back seat. “Well… I know your situation is special, but couldn’t you have called a car yourself? Or contacted your assistant? You didn’t really have to use such a… uh, dramatic method.”
Henry lounged against the seat. Now that he was out of danger, he looked relaxed.
“My phone fell into the sink while I was hiding,” he replied casually. “It’s broken.”
That explanation… actually made sense.
Amelia listened quietly, then suddenly thought of Lily’s assistant, whose birthday was coming up.
This is the perfect chance!
She turned her head slightly and asked carefully, “In that case, Mr. Dollar, when you get out, could you give us an autograph? Just to… cover the ride.”
The moment she said it, Lily shot her an approving look.
Henry froze.
He finally pulled his gaze away from the night outside the window and looked straight at Amelia. His tone was full of surprise. “You know who I am? You’re a fan too?”
In his mind, this woman–who’d been cold to him from start to finish–clearly didn’t know him.
Yet now she was asking for an autograph. The switch caught him off guard.
“No,” Amelia answered cleanly. “I’m not your fan. I’ve just seen your photos a few times. I recognized you.”
Henry raised an eyebrow, clearly doubtful. “You’re not a fan?”
He studied her. Her face was plain and calm, her eyes clear. There was none of the excitement or admiration he was used to seeing.

He let out a short huff, his stubborn pride showing. “You ran into me, hurt me, and now you’re asking for my autograph. Do you know how much my signature sells for?”
The message was clear. She was getting a huge deal.
Amelia listened to his confident tone and almost laughed.
She nodded very seriously and said, “I have no idea.”
