Then she added calmly. “Also, the autograph isn’t for me. A friend of mine really likes you. I’m just helping her ask. Of course, if you don’t want to-”
She paused on purpose and looked straight at Henry, her clear eyes steady. “Then I’ll ask the driver to stop at the next intersection. Your leg doesn’t seem hurt. You should be able to walk back to your hotel from there.”
The car went dead silent.
Lily, who had still been riding the high of accidentally catching a superstar, sucked in a sharp breath.
She stared at Amelia’s calm profile in the rearview mirror, her mind blank except for one thought, Amelia is seriously brave.
That was Henry Dollar.
A man at the very top of the industry. Someone fans treated like a king.
And she was threatening to kick him out halfway?
Lily’s heart jumped to her throat. She was sure this famous star, known for his temper, would snap on the spot.
But the anger everyone expected never came.
Henry went quiet for a few seconds.
From beneath the shadow of his cap, his charming eyes stayed locked on Amelia, unblinking, as if weighing whether she meant what she said.
It was ridiculous.
Henry had never been threatened like this in his life.
And somehow, that made the woman in front of him interesting.
The next second, he lifted a hand, hooked a finger around the strap of his mask, and tugged it down.
The black mask came off. Under the dim yellow car light, a face stunning enough to steal the breath from the whole car appeared without warning.
“Are you sure you want to kick me out?” he asked, his voice no longer muffled, now clear and deep, with a faint hint of a smile.
Amelia froze for a moment.
She had seen Henry’s photos many times on Lily’s phone.
Perfectly edited, carefully lit, almost unreal. She’d only remembered his eyes, striking and sharp, and nothing else.

But seeing him in person was different.
Handsome didn’t even begin to cover it.
Yet what truly shook her wasn’t his looks.
It was that this face… looked a little like Ethan from a few years ago.
Not exactly the same, of course.

Ethan’s eyes had always looked gentle. The man in front of her was the opposite. Sharp. Edgy. Full of bite.
Still, the shape of his face, the slight press of his lips, that faint sense of confidence deep in his eyes … They were unsettlingly alike.
Amelia’s expression visibly darkened.
She looked away and said coldly, “Yes. I’m sure. Mr. Dollar, since you got into our cab, I believe I have the right to decide whether you stay or go.”
The playful look on Henry’s face froze.
He had been sure taking off the mask would end this standoff. It always did.
Any woman who saw his face usually changed her tune in seconds.
But she didn’t.
“…Fine.” He let out a short laugh. “Where do I sign?”
He gave in.
Lily had been staring in shock. At his words, she snapped back to herself and started digging through her bag.
In the end, she pulled out a palm–sized doll she’d bought from a shop in the old town, along with a pen, and shoved them over.
“Sign here!”
Henry raised a brow and took the silly–looking doll.
He lowered his head, pinched one of its tiny feet, flicked his wrist, and signed his name in a bold, sweeping hand.
Just like him. Loose. Wild. Sharp.
When he finished, he handed the doll and pen back.
Amelia took it without even glancing at the autograph that could sell for a fortune and passed it straight to Lily in the front seat.
After that, she went quiet. She didn’t look at Henry again. She even shifted closer to the window, widening the space between them.

Chapter 318 Interesting
Henry was stunned.
All his life, he had been the center of attention, surrounded by praise and desire.

This kind of cold treatment felt new and interesting. Without thinking much about it, he decided she was playing hard to get.
She had to be trying to catch his eye.
Henry leaned back, relaxed, a knowing smile curling at his lips.
He was sure that any second now, she’d find an excuse to ask for his number.
He waited.
One minute passed.
Five minutes passed.
The cab rolled to a smooth stop in front of a glittering five–star hotel, and still, nothing happened.
The woman beside him kept her eyes on the night scene flashing past the window, her profile calm and distant, as if he were nothing more than empty air.
