Chapter 354 Just in Case

Tim was drunk, and he was still capable of performing?

Lily seemed to read Amelia’s mind. She lifted an eyebrow.

What else would it be?she said, calm and casual. “It’s our wedding night. And even if we don’t use it tonight, buying some to keep on hand is just normal adult behavior, right?

As she spoke, something seemed to occur to her. Lily gave a sly smile, reached for the shelf, picked up a small box, and tossed it straight into Amelia’s arms.

Here. For you.

That little box felt like it was burning hot. Amelia panicked and almost dropped it.

Lily laughed, clearly enjoying herself. Aren’t you staying in the same room with Mason tonigh too? Sparks fly, things happen. What if he loses control and devours you?She grinned. Better safe than sorry.

The word devourcame out especially suggestive when Lily said it.

Amelia’s face turned red, all the way to her ears.

Without thinking, she shoved the box back onto the shelf as fast as she could.

Nno! Wewe haven’tShe was so flustered she couldn’t finish the sentence. The rest was toc embarrassing to say out loud.

Her shy, flustered look only made Lily laugh harder.

Oh, right,Lily said, dragging out her words on purpose. You two haven’t seen each other naked. No wonder. So, you don’t even know if the size fits. Yeah, you really shouldn’t buy randomly.

Lily!Amelia stomped her foot, half angry, half mortified.

Lily ignored her protest and added with a snort, Seriously, Ethan was blind. Leaving our sweet, lovely Amelia untouched for six years? What was that? Some kind of pretend marriage? Is something wrong with his head?

Don’t mention him!Amelia cut her off, pretending to be mad as she said firmly, Anyway, we don’t need that. Got it?

Okay, okay, you don’t need it.Lily laughed and raised her hands in surrender. She paid at the counter and pulled Amelia out of the pharmacy.

On the walk back, Amelia’s cheeks were still burning.

Noticing how distracted Amelia looked, Lily curved her lips into a mysterious smile and said slowly, You never know.

When Amelia and Lily returned to the restaurant with the hangover medicine, the scene insi was even worse than before.

Tim had upgraded from hugging a chair leg to hugging a table leg. He was still mumbling things like for lifeand I’ll never let you down, repeating the same old promises over and

over.

In contrast, the coffee in front of Mason had already been refilled once.

Steam rose gently from the cup as he watched Tim’s meltdown in silence, his expression calm and unreadable.

Quick, help me get this into him,Lily said. She shoved the medicir rolled up her sleeves, moving in to pry Tim’s arms loose.

After a full round of chaos, they finally managed to get him to swallow it.

Tim quieted down for a while. Slowly, a bit of clarity returned to his eyes.

On the ride back, Tim leaned against Lily’s shoulder, looking like he had fallen asleep.

Mason focused on driving.

Outside the window, snowy scenery slid past in silence. Streetlights cast shifting shadows acros his sharp profile.

Amelia sat in the front passenger seat, her mind still echoing with Lily’s bold teasing back at the pharmacy.

That one line-you don’t even know if the size fits-kept looping in her head like a spell, making her face burn.

She really didn’t know.

The car pulled into the parking lot of the hotel.

Mason parked and turned off the engine. He looked back at Tim, who was halfawake now.

He reminded him flatly, Tim, we’re here. If you keep sleeping, it’s pointless.

Isn’t tonight your wedding night?

The words wedding nightcut straight through Tim’s foggy brain.

He jolted awake. The haze in his eyes cleared almost at once.

Blinking, he finally seemed to remember the big thing he’d done today. He sat up straight and wrapped an arm around Lily’s shoulders, clearly claiming his place. His voice grew much louder. That’s right! Come on, wifey, let’s go!

Lily stiffened at the word wifey. She tried to pull away but failed. In the end, she shot him an annoyed glare and let him guide her out of the car.

Watching the two of them stumble off together, Amelia still hadn’t let go of her worry.

Will he be okay tonight?she asked softly. Is Lily really going to have to take care of him?

That’s their business,Mason replied.

He paused, then fixed his dark gaze on her.

You should be thinking about yourself right now.

Amelia froze, confused, and looked back at him. About what?

In the night, his eyes were deeper than usual, like dark pools with hidden currents she couldn’t read.

Mason didn’t answer.

He unbuckled his seatbelt, stepped out of the car, walked around, and opened the door for her.
