No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I'm Done novel Chapter 399

Mason’s voice was cool as he replied, “I’m not thirsty.”

Amelia felt completely exposed under his gaze.

“Why did you come over here?” She chose to change the subject, asking softly.

Although her instinct was to hide, now that he was actually standing in front of her, the secret joy blooming in her heart was impossible to ignore.

Mason’s tone carried a barely perceptible hint of grievance. “If you won’t call me over, am I not allowed to find you myself?

“Good thing this is my company.”

Amelia’s heart ached with a bittersweet pang as she listened to his words.

Before she could pull herself out of that heaviness, Mason leaned in, drawing even closer. His nose nearly brushed against her hair.

“Am I really that embarrassing to be seen with? That you have to keep hiding me?”

Amelia shook her head. “No! That’s not it at all!”

She explained urgently, “You’re way too impressive!”

So impressive that whenever she thought about telling people she was Mason’s girlfriend, she always felt like she fell short.

Mason understood her insecurities.

But with so many people around, this wasn’t the place for them to have a deeper conversation about it.

He didn’t want to cause any unnecessary commotion at an event like this and add to Amelia’s stress.

So he settled for an indulgent threat. “Alright, I get it.

“I’ll deal with you when we get home.”

Not far away, Lily had been watching the interaction between Amelia and Mason. Even though she couldn’t hear what they were saying, just seeing how docile and obedient Amelia looked in front of Mason made her sigh softly, “Damn, Mason really does have some moves!”

Tim smiled knowingly at her words.

He gently wrapped his arm around Lily’s waist, adopting the air of someone who’d seen it all. “You bet. Don’t let that cold, aloof exterior fool you. He acts like nothing ever fazes him, but the truth is

“He’s ruthless. The kind who swallows you whole without spitting out the bones.”

Lily laughed at his description and leaned into his embrace, lifting her eyes with an intrigued arch of her brow. “Oh? How ruthless?

She knew Mason’s type all too well. He would never stoop to acknowledge such childish provocations.

“Smart girl.” Tim snapped his fingers. “He completely ignored it. Looked almost bored. That total indifference drove the guy absolutely crazy. His voice got louder, and the stakes got more ridiculous. From buying meals to covering all the club’s event expenses. Mason didn’t even bat an eye the entire time.

“Until…” Tim’s tone shifted, turning almost amused. “The idiot got so worked up he lost his head completely. He pointed at Mason and shouted, ‘If you’re even a man, you’ll face me! Loser runs three miles around the track buck naked!“”

Lily couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp.

She almost wished she’d been there to witness such a spectacular scene.

“Just when everyone thought Mason would walk away, he stopped. He let out this little sigh, like he was making some huge sacrifice. Then he looked at the basketball captain, who was already gloating in triumph, and said in this slow, casual drawl, ‘Well, since you’re so eager, let’s get this over with.‘

“That whole reluctant act fooled everyone. They all thought he’d been backed into a corner and was only fighting to save his pride. But I knew. The moment that idiot threw out that ridiculous bet, Mason already had him hooked.

“What happened next was a complete massacre.

“Mason barely broke a sweat. Meanwhile, the basketball captain went from cocky to so shaken he could barely hold onto the ball by the end.”
