No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I'm Done novel Chapter 400

Chapter 400 She Can’t Drink Either

“Final score–100 to 18. And out of those 18 points, I’d bet at least 10 of them were ones Mason let him score on purpose. “Just to drag the game out and let the guy really feel how hopeless it was.”

Lily listened to the end of the story without showing much surprise like others might have. Instead, she nodded thoughtfully and murmured, “Given his personality, that tracks.”

Mason never did anything he wasn’t certain about, and he never wasted time on pointless provocations. But once he decided to act, he would utterly crush his opponent.

“Exactly.” Tim gestured toward Vince in the distance, whose face practically screamed “overtime weekend.”

“Take Mr. Radcliffe, for example. Just based on who he is–forget his money or status as the CEO of Everett Group–that guy trying to steal Amelia from him? Not a chance in hell.

“Once you understand just how long Mason kept Amelia hidden in his heart, you’ll know just how intense that possessiveness is.”

Before long, the dinner officially began.

Vince had been busy rallying his marketing team about weekend overtime, painting grand visions of what success on this project would bring. Finally satisfied, he prepared to return to his seat.

But as he made his way through the crowd and his gaze landed on that secluded corner, the smile on his face froze.

His seat had been claimed by Mason, like it belonged there.

The man’s tall figure almost completely shielding Amelia with his commanding presence. They sat close together, Mason’s head tilted as if he were whispering something to her.

Amelia’s eyes were downcast, her expression unreadable, but the faint blush creeping up her ears gave her away.

What made Vince feel even more out of place was that Tim had also joined that table, accompanied by his stunning wife, Lily, settling in without hesitation.

That corner had clearly become the power center of the entire banquet hall.

At that point, Vince clearly couldn’t go back there.

In the end, he found an empty seat at another table. When colleagues asked what happened, he forced a smile and said he wasn’t close enough with Mason and the others and didn’t want to interrupt the executives‘ conversation.

But the wine in his glass suddenly tasted bitter.

Soon enough, the sharp–nosed department heads caught wind of where the boss was sitting.

This was a golden opportunity to get face time with upper management. No one wanted to miss it.

People started lining up at Mason’s table, glasses in hand.

“Mr. Everett! I’m Mike Angelo from R&D. Let me toast to you!”
