Chapter 446 Know Your Place
Amelia said nothing.
Being ignored so completely made Vince’s face stiffen for a moment. But he quickly recovered. A hint of malice flickered in his eyes.
He didn’t notice her cold attitude. Vince asked again, “Did you hear Mr. Everett is coming to the company today? Is that why you prepared those documents? Planning to go see him?”
Amelia slowly turned her head, her expression completely blank.
“Mr. Radcliffe.
“My job is to report to the group’s general manager.” She lifted the file in her hand. “This proposal is for Mr. Clem to review. As for my work schedule and who I report to … I don’t think I need to report that to you.”
Vince stopped breathing for a second.
He never expected Amelia to hit back so directly.
He stared at her cold, beautiful side profile. She looked proud and distant, as if his earlier probing meant nothing at all.
Vince thought he had completely lost this round; Amelia’s icy attitude suddenly softened.
She lowered her eyes and glanced at the file in her hand. When she looked up again, the frost in her eyes seemed to melt a little.
Vince’s heart jumped. He thought maybe his status had made her nervous.
He quickly grabbed the chance and forced a smile back onto his face,
“Ms. Harlow, don’t get me wrong,” he said in a gentler, almost concerned tone. “I don’t mean anything else. I just saw you heading to the top floor and wanted to tell you something.”
Amelia asked calmly, “Oh? What is it?”
Vince was convinced her earlier confidence was a bluff. Now, she was finally showing weakness.
“It’s the news…
“This morning, when I went to give Mr. Clem a report, I happened to hear him talking with Mr. Everett
about it.
“They said it’s spreading all over the internet. It’s already caused some negative impact on Stardale Group’s company image.”
To make himself sound more believable, he even sighed seriously.
Amelia raised her eyebrow slightly higher. She stared at him, her voice neutral. “Are you sure!”

“Absolutely!” Vince nodded quickly, wearing a fake “I’m doing this for your good” expression. “Ms. Harlow, I came to tell you this because I care. Don’t worry. From the way they talked, they’re not planning to blame you or fire you or anything.”
He paused. Then his tone shifted, revealing his real purpose.
His voice now carried a sense of superiority. “You also shouldn’t have any unrealistic ideas about Mr. Everett.
Who is Mr. Everett? The leader of our group. Upright. Clean. Never close to women. And you…” He looked at her meaningfully. “You’re divorced. And your relationship problems are still a mess, making headlines everywhere. You should know your place.”
Vince spoke indignantly.
He was completely lost in his lies and self–righteous feelings. He had no idea that the “upright, not–close- o–women” CEO he was praising hard had been kicked out of Amelia’s office two hours ago. In fact, Mason was frustrated because a kiss hadn’t happened.
At this point, Amelia clearly understood Vince’s real intention.
He was warning her in a roundabout way. Telling her to know her place and stop dreaming about latching ›nto a wealthy man.
She looked at the proud man in front of her. Instead of getting angry, she smiled.
Oh, I see…” Amelia nodded like she suddenly understood everything. “Mr. Radcliffe, thank you so much or telling me this. I should hurry up and ask Mr. Everett myself. I’can’t let my personal matters affect the Company’s reputation.”
The sudden reaction made Vince panic.
