Chapter 586 A Place to Belong
“Amelia, these are some project files and partnership proposals that piled up over Christmas. Mr. Clem asked you to review them.”
Amelia smiled and nodded as she took the stack. “Got it. Thanks.”
Work hit her all at once. She quickly pulled herself together and focused.
With Mason’s strong support, the company had already found its footing. It was growing fast.
As head of the design department, Amelia carried a lot on her shoulders.
She buried herself in blueprints and proposals.
The busy pace made her feel steady. For a while, she didn’t have time to think about anything else.
Near the end of the workday, people started leaving one by one. Amelia stretched and rolled her stiff neck. Just then, her phone lit up with a finance news alert.
The headline was hard to miss.
“Rowe Group Expands Overseas–New CEO Ethan Rowe Secures Key Deals. Stock Rebounds Strongly.”
Amelia hesitated for a second, then tapped it.
The article showed a photo of Ethan at an overseas signing event.
He wore a sharp suit, standing tall. His smile was calm and confident. The restlessness he once had was gone. In its place was the sharp look of a mature businessman.
The report explained how Rowe Group had stabilized after recent trouble. Under Ethan’s leadership, they quickly recovered and opened new doors overseas right at the start of the holiday season.
Every line showed the market’s approval of the new leader.
Amelia read the whole article quietly, then closed her phone.
This was good.
Ethan had always been talented and driven. He wasn’t like most rich kids with bad habits. He had only gotten lost for too long in that one relationship.
Now, he had finally moved on. He was back where he belonged and focused on his career. Amelia packed her things and got ready to leave. Just then, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Mason Im downstairs.”
She smiled, grabbed her bag, and headed to the elevator.
Mason’s car was parked right in front of the building, easy to spot
She opened the door and got in

“Good mood today?” Mason started the car and glanced at her, a soft smile in his dark eyes.
“Yeah” Amelia nodded, not explaining. But she knew he understoo
She looked out the window. The street seemed unfamiliar
“Aren’t we going home?” she asked.
“I’m taking you somewhere, Mason said, his tone a little mysterious.
The car pulled into a high–end residential area and stopped in front of one of the buildings.
Amelia recognized it. It was the penthouse they had bought before.
“Isn’t this place still under construction?”
“Come and see” Mason said. He got out, walked around, opened her door, and took her hand. Together. they went into the elevator.
Soon, they stood in front of a dark gray door. Mason pulled out a key card and tapped it
With a soft click, the door unlocked. He pushed it open.
Amelia froze. Inside was a fully finished home–perfect beyond anything she had imagined.
Every detail of the design had been built piece by piece by the two of them.
She never thought all those small ideas would come together like this.
Everything here carried their mark. Everything held his love for her.
This wasn’t just a house. For the first time in over twenty years, this was truly her own home.
Her eyes grew warm without warning. A thin layer of tears blurred her vision.
Standing in this space they had created together, she finally felt something deep and real. She belonged. Just then, Mason stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her gently into his chest.
“I had the team speed things up” he said softly. “We used eco–friendly materials, and I had professionals come in several times to clear the smell.” He paused, then pressed a light kiss near her ear. “When spri comes, and the weather gets warmer, we can move in.”
