**TITLE: My Heart Waited Too Long and Choosing Freedom**
**Chapter 62: Sugar Overload**
Would he interpret my message as a peace offering, or would he see me as a bothersome fly, clinging and pestering?
Amelia felt a wave of anxiety wash over her as her finger hovered over the emoji, poised to delete her message.
“You recalled a message.”
When that small gray line materialized on her screen, a sigh of relief escaped her lips.
Good… Maybe he didn’t actually see it…
But just as she thought she was in the clear, the chat box, dormant for six long years, suddenly flickered to life.
“?”
He had seen it.
A surge of panic coursed through Amelia, her heart racing like a wild animal caught in a trap.
The guilt and humiliation she felt were overwhelming, making her wish she could vanish into thin air, to bury herself in a deep, dark hole where no one could find her.

In the midst of her spiraling thoughts, inspiration struck like a lightning bolt. She swiftly switched to her browser, frantically searched for a random spam advertisement, copied the text, and pasted it into the chat without a second thought. Then, she pressed send, her finger trembling.
“Dry skin? Breakouts that won’t stop? Try the newest XX Face Mask! Get glowing skin in one use! Limited deal—buy two, get one free! Contact V: XXXXX”
As if that wasn’t absurd enough, she added an extra line for good measure.
“(A friend asked me to send this to everyone. Don’t reply.)”
Once she hit send, she flung her phone face-down into the far corner of the couch, too terrified to even glance at it again.
Silence enveloped the room, thick and suffocating.
Amelia curled up on the couch, her heart thudding in her chest like a drum,
Mason must think I’ve lost my mind.
After six years of silence, the first thing I send him is a bizarre spam message.
But then…
With her face buried between her knees, another thought crept into her mind, almost like a whisper in the dark.
He never deleted my number.
Back then, he had been furious with her, yet he still held onto her contact for all these years.
That small detail stirred something deep within her heart, a flicker of hope amid the chaos.
That night, Amelia tossed and turned, sleep eluding her like a shy shadow.

“Yes! That’s why I cut my trip short and caught a red-eye flight back. I’m outside your studio right now. Come get me.”
Before Amelia could form a coherent response, Lily hung up, leaving her staring at the phone in disbelief.
A few minutes later, a sharp knock echoed through the door, breaking the heavy silence that had settled in the room.
Amelia rose and opened the door, revealing Lily standing there in a crisp business suit, tugging a suitcase behind her—clearly fresh from the airport.
“Oh my God, did you literally just get off the plane?” Amelia exclaimed, taking the suitcase from her friend and laughing helplessly at the sight.
“Yep!” Lily beamed, pulling her into a tight hug before stepping back to take in her surroundings with bright curiosity. “I’m dedicating my whole life to your career, you know!”
As she strolled through the studio, her eyes sparkled with excitement.
“This place is fantastic! Great lighting, an open layout… So much better than that tiny cave you had before.” Lily nodded in approval, her enthusiasm infectious. She wandered over to the floor-to-ceiling window, where the meticulously maintained garden outside caught her eye.
The afternoon sun bathed the flowers and shrubs in a warm, golden glow.
The most striking were the vibrant patches of blooming bluebells, their color almost ethereal in the sunlight.
A flicker of surprise danced in Lily’s eyes as she turned toward Amelia, who was busy preparing coffee at the counter.
“You and that mysterious boss from Stardale seem to share the same taste. Don’t tell me you two already know each other?”
Amelia froze for a moment, confusion washing over her. “What? How could I possibly know someone that rich and famous?” she replied, handing Lily a steaming cup of coffee before sinking into the couch across from her friend.
