“Daddy…” Her voice trembled slightly as she seemed to hesitate. “It’s all my fault. I forgot to tell you that when I was in Eldoria, I had some… run–ins with Ms. Harlow.”

She continued, “I think there was a misunderstanding. She seems to think that I’m trying to use this project to get back at her, so… she said she doesn’t want to take this project anymore. “I… I met Lenny’s long–lost daughter downstairs.” Amelia paused before looking up at Mason. “It’s Hannah.”

She continued, “She’s the one who suggested that Lenny’s company work with Stardale.”

Mason’s eyebrows knitted tightly together.

He gently pulled Amelia into his arms, speaking rationally, “Hannah? That’s impossible. If there were still secrets about her background, she would have used them back in Eldoria. Why wait until now?”

Amelia shook her head and leaned against Mason, her voice slightly muffled now, “I found it strange too. Ethan and Hannah were childhood friends who grew up together. I heard from him that after the Grays went bankrupt, her parents passed away one after the other. He never mentioned that Hannah was adopted.”
