No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I'm Done novel Chapter 83

**Chapter 83: The Storm at Home**

Grace had always placed immense value on her reputation, carefully crafting an image that reflected her ideals. While she could muster kindness towards Hannah and her daughter, a remnant of their shared past, there was a line she would never cross: she would never, under any circumstances, accept the idea of Hannah marrying Ethan.

Amelia, on the other hand, felt a knot of dread in her stomach at the thought of returning home to face Grace and Hannah. The very idea made her skin crawl, yet she knew she had to maintain her facade until the divorce waiting period concluded. The last thing she wanted was to stir up trouble in an already tumultuous situation.

“I’ll be right back,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, as if to convince herself as much as Grace.

As she drove back to the villa, the contrast between the outside world and her impending confrontation felt jarring. It was as if she had stepped out of the gentle embrace of warm spring sunlight and plunged into the icy grip of a damp winter. The chill seeped into her bones, matching the apprehension that gnawed at her insides.

Inside the living room, Grace was perched stiffly on an opulent leather couch, her posture rigid and unyielding. A maid, visibly anxious, poured a fresh cup of tea, her hands trembling slightly as she served the woman of the house.

Grace was impeccably dressed in a suit that hugged her form, her meticulously maintained face twisted with anger and irritation. The moment her eyes fell on Amelia, she slammed her teacup down onto the table with a sharp crack that echoed through the room. “What is so important about that useless studio of yours?” she barked, her voice laced with disdain. “Is it worth being gone all day? If you don’t want to be the lady of the house, then hurry up, divorce Ethan, and get out! Stop holding onto a title while contributing nothing. Your working outside is nothing but an embarrassment to us!”

Grace’s assumption was that Amelia would crumble under the pressure, just as she had for the past six years. She expected an immediate apology, a show of remorse for upsetting her mother-in-law.

But Amelia, to her surprise, responded with an unsettling calmness. “But wasn’t it you who told me not to take any job in Rowe Group? You also said it was better if no one knew I was married to Ethan. Why are you angry now?”

The directness of Amelia’s words struck Grace like a slap. The memory of her earlier warnings flashed through her mind; she had suggested those things out of fear that Amelia, an orphan with no family name, might exploit their connections for her own gain.

Grace’s face twisted in irritation at being called out so bluntly. “That was then! Things are different now!” she snapped, her voice rising. “Hannah has joined the design department. And you don’t care at all? You’re Ethan’s wife, yet you just sit there while another woman cozies up to your husband?”

Amelia, unperturbed, settled onto the couch opposite Grace, raising her hands slightly as if to indicate her indifference. “Even if I care, what does it change? I don’t hold any position at the company. Whoever Ethan hires is his business. I can’t control that.”

“You brat!” Grace exclaimed, her finger jabbing in Amelia’s direction, her fury palpable as her chest heaved with indignation.

Grace could sense a shift in Amelia today. The girl she once knew had been gentle, submissive, and easy to manipulate.
