Not just the Beta (Oriana and Slade) novel Chapter 209

Austin

The list of crimes against Roman, Elise and those members of each of their units, just seemed to grow with every scroll that was read, and each council member’s report. He and the other eleven members worked well into the night to try and list them all out in chronological order, but they went back for 27 years.

They also now knew for certain that two other packs were involved in this reign of tyranny. It was likely that both of those packs also used this on their pack members. So two new investigations would have to be started into each of those packs as well now.

Hailey, Marrian and Cameron were already working on that. Writing up the investigations that were going to be needed for both those other packs. Though there was a complication already, one of them had a full coven of dark witches. The Blackened Paws Pack had several generations of witches living there. So that was going to be difficult.

That particular pack’s investigation would be left in the hands of the witch’s council, and there was likely going to be a request for a combined investigation of wolves and witches, considering just how many wolves had been harmed over a full generation.

They had to find out the true reason why those witches over there thought it was a good idea to stop wolves from scenting out their Mates. He nor any of those in this room thought it was solely about making money.

Though witches did like power and charged through the nose for others to use their skills, but most would not interfere in a mate bond due to they themselves got gifted Mates. So doing something like this could well see them not know of their own Mate when he or she came along. Could be affected by their own doings later on.

It was a horrid mess, and if a young Slade hadn’t rebelled and decided to be loyal to a young Oriana, none of this would have come to light, and so many more would suffer because of it. He was thankful for wolves that stayed true to their laws, and not their kin or Alphas at times.

This was what they, the council members, were for to try and weed out the bad and instate the good, to keep those that were seen as loyal and trustworthy wolves, in-charge and true to wolfen law, as well as their own pack laws. In the hope that those that followed on from them, were shown how to be a good Alpha, and continue on in that fashion.

Sloan strolled into the war room with him after breakfast, and he watched her look at all the notes that were now written up on the whiteboard, the list of crimes and punishments that could be dealt out, and just shake her head.

“I see Ana was better off running away.” she sighed a little. “her leaving has likely seen dozens if not hundreds more be saved from this kind of thing inside other packs.”

“Once those packs are known and investigated, yes” Austin nodded “Though I am curious nov. to just how many are now out there like this one, they perfected it in ten years. So, for the past 16 years, they have been handing them out to Goddess only knows how many packs.” he muttered.

“Agreed.” She nodded “How many in that coven?” Sloan asked almost casually, but he knew her brain was ticking.

“A lot. We checked it this morning. It hasn’t been updated for years. One of the seers looked at it for us this morning, thought 27 Elders, about 60 witches and warlocks under them and then there are those born but not yet realised to their bloodline, teens without powers.”

“Hmm, so difficult to deal with…”

“Whatever you’re thinking, it’s a no, in your condition.” He stated flatly, staring at her, and she smiled sweetly at him.

“Not me.” she shook her head “Not even Kitsune, you’ll likely need light witches, but…” she trailed off once more.

“But.” Several in the room asked, they all knew Sloan and how her brain ticked on things.

“The quickest way to rid them witches would be with the full threat of Sirens coming in to deal with them.” She looked at Austin. “We do know a small pack with a hell of a deadly trio.”

“Mm, we do, though I believe Luci is currently pregnant, so that is out of the question.” He stated, and it would be, no one on the council would ask a pregnant woman of any species to step into a fight. That was just plain wrong.

“Silla is not, and has really been training with the other Sirens, has that I don’t care about anything attitude due to the way she was raised by Victor. I’d be willing to bet if I talked to her, she’d go along with it, might be able to talk the other three into it.” she commented.

“That’s one tough nut.” Sloan stated, her eyes following Ryder as she walked casually across the foyer of the packhouse. “I wonder what happened to her?”

“That is between her and the king, I believe. A tale as yet unknown in full to the council. Though I do believe each and every one of her unit were all betrayed by someone they trusted.” Cameron sighed heavily.

“No love of ranked members, regardless of bloodline, in any of them.” Hailey nodded “I also believe they’re legally allowed to carry not only Damascus steel but Belladonna Lilly Toxin in every realm, or that is my knowledge.”

“An interesting woman, likely has a terribly horrid tale of betrayal to her name.” Sloan nodded “I’ll have Ana come downstairs for this. She and all involved should witness the punishment begin.” He watched his Mate stroll from the room un-phased by all that was going on. She was 500 and had seen a lot in her years. Nothing really surprised her at all. She generally just shook her head at most things.

He turned to Slade and his unit all sitting in this room quietly listening on. It was not their place to discuss punishment. Only they, the Wolfen Council, Ryder of The Kings Eyes and King Christian himself could do that from here on in.

Slade didn’t want to use the previous Alpha Office, and he’d already voiced the possibility demolishing this packhouse and building a new one. He didn’t even want it to sit where this sat. He would get what he wanted and likely wouldn’t have to pay for it either. Their own king would want to reward him for his loyalty, for bringing all this horrid business to light. Probably see the king paying for it as a way of thanking him.

Austin knew quite a few packs that were in construction and there was one just a state away in New Mexico. They’d actually used them for Alpha Aston’s pack in Colorado, when it had needed to grow. Aston and Mala still used Alpha Garrett of the Tripple Moon, for extra add-ons and new homes when it was necessary.

He’d give Slade the man’s details, and put a call to Garrett himself to give him the heads-up on some good business, introduce them via phone, seeing as he’d not seen that the Tripple Moon Pack was on the list of affiliated packs to Highland Hills. Nor had he seen anything to do with Owens corporation.

A lot of the affiliated packs to this one were about $00 wolves, some smaller and that was how some of those dealings had been made. They paid Roman monthly not to attack them. They’d yet to start making those calls they would start after punishment had been dealt out. Couldn’t do it prior to having all the knowledge, and he wasn’t about to let Slade take the blame for it either.

He knew some of those Alphas would be irate. But again, none of them had contacted the council about it, so it was also on them, to a certain degree not Slade. Why the council would make the calls.
