Amber helped herself down from the car the moment Marcus pulled up in front of MPK. She took in a deep breath as she took in the whole building. It was just as she wanted it to be large, powerful and intimidating. It was nowhere near as large as the headquarters of MPK but was still enough to dwarf other companies.
She was almost making her way into the building when she sighted another car pulling up opposite from where she stood and almost immediately, an individual came down from the back seat and it turned out to be him.
Alpha Damon.
The father of her children and the bastard who had given her countless nightmares.
His black hair look tousled and messy but other than that, he looked just the same as she remembered.
Cold, composed and devilishly handsome.
Amber forced herself not to think of those thoughts. She turned and was about to walk inside the building when she heard him call her name.
“Amber?” He called and immediately, Amber felt a jolt travel through her body.
She didn’t know if it was because of the long–broken mate Bond they once shared or the way her name rolled off his tongue. But nevertheless, Amber forced herself to stay strong.
This was not the time nor moment to act weak.
She had spend years trying to get over the damage this man caused her. And after so many years, she had finally succeeded. She wasn’t about to let herself act weak in front of him again.
Never.
Amber closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she resume walking. She had barely taken two steps when she felt a strong grip on her arm.
Immediately his skin touched hers, Amber felt another jolt of electricity travel through her body, this time even more intense than the first one she’d felt.
She didn’t need anyone to tell her whose hand it was. She already knew.
“Let go of me!” She said sharply as she turned to face him.
“We need to talk!” Damon said calmly, trying not to create scene even though a storm was already brewing inside him.
“I have nothing to say to you, let go of me!”
“How dare you say that to me Bree? Do you know how long searched for you? They told me you were fucking death!” 1
As soon as the words left his lips, Marcus turned and glared at him. “Take your filthy hands off her now!”
“And who the fuck are you to tell me that?”
“Her boyfriend! Now take your hands off now!” Marcus voice thundered and for the briefest moment, Damon felt
sharp pain twist in his chest.
“Her… boyfriend?” He repeated before turning his gaze to Amber.
“You have a boyfriend? How fucking dare you Bree!”

“To hell with you Damon. Get your filthy hands off me!”
“Didn’t you hear her?” Marcus growled. “She said let her go!”
“Mind your damn business and stay out of this!” Damon barked before setting his gaze back on Amber.
“We need to talk Bree, please!”
And that was all it took. Marcus stepped forward and shoved Damon back.
For someone who was an Alpha, Damon wasn’t expecting the force that sent him stumbling two steps back, causing him to lose his grip on Amber.
He stared at Marcus, and that was when everything clicked the strength, the aura, the unmistakable energy rolling off the man.
There was no way a mere human could have pushed him.
Which meant only one thing.
The man standing before him wasn’t a human.
He was a werewolf, just like him and an Alpha at that.
