Chapter 103

Chapter 103

Her tone had a teasing edge to it.

Everyone snapped out of it, looking awkward and at a loss.

But someone still hesitantly asked, “Ms. Prescott, is she really Ms. Draven?”

She looked just like a student, totally worlds apart from the Ms. Draven they’d imagined.

“Yep, that’s Ms. Draven,” Ella confirmed, then glanced at Ophelia. “Ms, Draven, everyone’s here. We can get started

“Wait a minute,” someone interrupted, sounding pretty annoyed, cutting Ophelia off just as she was about to speak. Ophelia arched an eyebrow and looked over, spotting a chubby guy in his fifties, scowling at her. “Ms. Draven? Seriously? How could Ms. Draven look like you? Even if you have some connection, at best you’re her daughter.”

The guy just couldn’t believe this young girl was actually Ms. Draven. ‘If anything, her being Ms. Draven’s daughter would make way more sense,’ he thought.

He remembered how Ms. Draven had taken over their company with ruthless efficiency, pulled them back from the edge when everything was falling apart, and then shook up the whole place with bold reforms.

Now, thanks to her, Maplewood Capital was one of the top investment firms in the game.

Ms. Draven was famous for her uncanny investment instincts and exceptional abilities.

“Who can say?” someone murmured.

Everyone was whispering and throwing side glances, their faces full of mixed emotions.

Ms. Draven was a total enigma, never showing up in person, nobody had a clue about her personality or what made her tick. Figuring out what she was thinking was like chasing shadows.

With Mr. Harrison stirring up the crowd, Ella shot him a dead serious look and said, “Mr. Harrison, with all those wild theories, maybe you should switch careers and write dramas instead. I’ll say it one more time, she is Ms. Draven.”

Mr. Harrison was always a troublemaker. He thought Ella was acting all high and mighty just because she’s got Ms. Draven on speed dial, but never mentioned how he was always throwing his seniority around just because he’s one of the original shareholders.

It was one thing for him to give her a hard time, but now that Ophelia was here, he actually dared to poke the hornet’s nest.

Mr. Harrison gave Ophelia a scornful look. “Hmph, even if you dress her up in royal robes, she still doesn’t look like a true

heiress.”

He refused to believe Ophelia was actually Rowan Draven.

Ella’s lips twitched. ‘This old fossil is so ridiculously stubborn, it’s almost unbelievable, she thought.

Ophelia didn’t even bother with Mr. Harrison. She swept her gaze over the rest of the room, her tone cool and collected. “So,
