Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Zoe nodded sweetly. “Okay, Mom. I’ll do my best.”

With that, Zoe headed for the elevator as well.

Chloe carried in a fruit platter. “Ma’am, shall I take the fruit up to her room?”

“Go ahead,” Victoria said, waving her hand.

Chloe quickly caught up with Zoe, who whispered to her, “Get someone to follow Ophelia. I want to find out what she’s doing tonight.”

‘Could she be meeting up with Alaric tonight?’ Zoe thought, a wave of jealousy and suspicion washing over her.

The more Zoe dwelled on it, the more anxious she became. ‘I have to keep an eye on Ophelia, no matter what,’ she told herself.

When Ophelia arrived at the Moonlight Club, Ella was already waiting for her.

“Boss, Mr. Lawson is already waiting for you in the Rainview Room,” Ella said, handing over a document. “This is the contract Mr. Lawson sent over earlier. If everything checks out, we’re set to sign it tonight.”

“Got it,” Ophelia replied, taking the document. Then she led Ella into the club.

But the moment they stepped inside, Ophelia found herself colliding head-on with another girl.

“Ella!” Ophelia instinctively reached out to steady Ella, making sure she didn’t lose her balance.

Right then, the other girl exploded, her voice sharp and pissed off, “Hey! Are you blind or something? Watch where you’re going!”

“You’re the one who came charging in…” Ella started to snap back, frowning, but the moment she saw the girl’s face, her words caught in her throat.

They locked eyes, both stunned for a moment. ‘Just my luck to run into her here; Ophelia thought, irritation bubbling up inside her.

“Ophelia, what are you doing here?” Layla Vossen said, her gaze sweeping over Ophelia with a complicated look, part surprise, part suspicion.

‘This is a high-end club. Only the rich and powerful show up here. What could Ophelia possibly be doing in a place like this?’ Layla wondered, her mind swirling with doubt.

Ophelia’s eyes narrowed, her tone frosty as she snapped back, “Am I not allowed here or something?”

Layla gave Ophelia a once-over, her eyes lingering on the plain T-shirt and jeans. Even the girl with her was just in a basic business suit, definitely not the kind of people who belonged in a place like this.

Layla snorted, her tone full of mockery. “Wow, showing up here dressed like a pauper? What, did your man finally kick you to the curb?”

Layla raised her brows, a gleam of gloating satisfaction in her eyes. She was convinced Ophelia had been dumped.

‘Figures, Layla sneered inwardly. ‘Like any rich guy would ever be serious about someone like her. She was just a temporary plaything, after all.’

‘No way… Layla thought, suspicion flickering in her eyes.

‘Is Ophelia here tonight, scoping out her next target?’

With that thought, Layla blocked Ophelia’s path, her lips curling into a sneer. “Ophelia, this place is way out of your league. Why don’t you just turn around and save yourself the embarrassment?”

Just remembering how Ophelia used to act all high and mighty after landing herself a rich guy made Layla seethe with resentment. Now that she’d been tossed aside, there was no way Layla was letting her latch onto another rich guy. Ophelia raised an eyebrow, a teasing smirk on her lips. “Oh? And what makes you think I don’t belong here?” ‘Look at this two-faced little snake, acting like she runs the place; Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes in amusement. “Ophelia,” Layla called out, her smile all fake sweetness but her voice loud enough for half the club to hear. “Maybe you don’ † realize, but this place is for people who actual
