Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111

Ella’s jaw dropped in shock. ‘Wow, her acting skills are insane! Anyone would fall for that and rush to defend her, she thought.

Ophelia watched Layla’s little performance, not the least bit surprised. With a spark of interest in her eyes, she glanced up at Cameron.

She’d guessed Layla was acting all pitiful because someone showed up, but she hadn’t expected it to be Cameron.

‘She’s even trying to use her own dad? That’s some next-level scheming, Ophelia thought, a cold smile tugging at her lips.

But when Cameron heard Ophelia was there, his eyes lit up with surprise and delight. “Ophelia! Is that you? What are you doing here?”

His eyes practically sparkled when he saw her.

The last time they talked on the phone, it got cut off, and he’d been trying to reach her ever since, but she barely ever answered her phone anymore. He never thought he’d actually run into her here.

Layla had been sure Cameron would take her side and put Ophelia in her place, but instead, he was practically groveling in front of her.

She stood there, stunned, her voice rising in disbelief. “Dad! What are you even doing?”

‘Seriously? Why is Dad suddenly-treating Ophelia like she’s some kind of VIP?’ Layla thought, jealousy and confusion swirling inside her.

“Just zip it,” Cameron snapped, shooting Layla a warning glare.

To Cameron, Ophelia was basically a money tree now, no way was he letting her slip through his fingers.

He turned to Ophelia, putting on his best friendly face. “Ophelia, did your sister get on your nerves? Want me to make her say sorry?”

“Dad!” Layla blurted out, her brain short-circuited. ‘Seriously, what the heck is happening right now? He’s not even sticking up for me, and he’s actually making me apologize to Ophelia?’

Ever since she moved back home, her parents had treated her like a princess, she’d never had to swallow her pride, not even once. So why were they suddenly flipping the script on her just because Ophelia was here?

“No need,” Ophelia replied, her eyes icy as she shot Cameron a cold look. “Just tell your daughter to move. And get out of my way.”

Cameron choked on her words. He’d just wanted to pretend and make Layla apologize, but he never thought Ophelia would degrade their dignity.

He was seething inside, but with Ophelia’s ties to the Rowle family, he didn’t dare show it. Forcing a smile, he said, “Your sister’s in the wrong. Layla, why are you still blocking Ophelia? Move it!”

‘This clueless daughter of mine is getting me into trouble too,’ he fumed to himself.

“Dad!” Layla cried out, completely floored by Cameron’s attitude. She just couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

“Move!” Cameron lost his cool and barked at her again, not even bothering to hide his impatience.

He’d done his homework and found out Ophelia was actually the Rowle family’s daughter. With that kind of connection, the Vossen family would be rolling in it!

No way was he going to risk ticking off Ophelia just for his own daughter, and he was determined to ride her coattails for all they were worth.

Layla was seething with frustration, but with Cameron yelling at her, she could only swallow her pride and step aside, feeling utterly wronged.
