Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 112

Chapter 112

‘No wonder he’s been playing the submissive, always grinning like a fool. He must’ve dug up her background and now he’s trying to hitch a ride on the Rowle family’s coattails,’ Ella thought.

Ella watched Cameron fawn over Ophelia, a mocking look on her face.

‘Ophelia’s adoptive father is the king of shamelessness, and he can swallow his pride and play whatever role suits him; Ella thought.

Cameron was so caught up in his own excitement that he didn’t even notice the looks Ophelia and Ella were giving him.

He kept talking, almost giddy, “Yeah, Ophelia, meeting you really feels like fate. How about you take me to meet the Rowle family? Honestly, our families should’ve met ages ago. It’s all on me, I was inconsiderate and didn’t think about your feelings.”

Ophelia couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief at Cameron’s arrogance. ‘As arrogant as ever, she thought.

‘He’s really got some wild ideas, Ophelia scoffed to herself.

‘Is he seriously daydreaming right now?’ she thought.

“Boss, I always thought the Vossen family were the most shameless people ever, but now I get it, the rot really does start at the top.

“Even the family head is totally shameless, so it’s no wonder those ex-brothers of yours were such a disgrace,” Ella chimed in with a mocking tone.

Cameron’s face turned ugly in an instant. “And who are you supposed to be? Who let you butt in here?”

But as he spoke, Cameron suddenly thought Ella looked kind of familiar.

‘Wait a minute, didn’t she come to our company before?’ Cameron wondered to himself.

Ophelia smirked with obvious disdain at Ella’s words. Cameron’s behavior didn’t surprise her at all; she didn’t bother to hide her contempt and shut him down without hesitation. “Mr. Vossen, I really don’t see any reason for you to meet my family. Please leave.”

Ophelia’s eyes were cold and emotionless, like Cameron was nothing but a stranger to her.

“Do you really have to do this, Ophelia?” Cameron was left speechless by her cold, distant attitude.

‘She used to be so well-behaved when she was living with the Vossen family. How did she turn so hard to handle after leaving?’ he thought to himself.

“Mr. Vossen, wasn’t this exactly what you wanted when I left your family?” Ophelia said, her eyes icy and indifferent as she looked at him.

‘Now that I’ve given them exactly what they asked for, they’re the ones complaining, Ophelia thought to herself.

Cameron choked on his words, jaw tight as he swallowed his anger. He forced a gentle, almost placating tone. “Ophelia, are you still mad about what happened before?”

“No, I’m actually pretty happy with how things turned out. So I expect the Vossen family to keep their end of the deal too,” Ophelia shot back, her voice icy enough to freeze the whole room.

An inexplicable chill crept up Cameron’s spine, his eyes widening in brief shock.

For a split second, Ophelia’s aura was so intense it almost made him want to back away.

But the next moment, he wondered if he’d just been seeing things.

“Ophelia, your mom knows she was wrong before, and she really regrets it now. We all realize our mistakes. Even if we’re not family by blood, we’ve still got eighteen years together.

“Honestly, the Vossen family is in a really bad place right now. I really need your parents’ help…” Cameron said, his voice softening as he tried to appeal to her.

“Talk about clueless,” Ella snarked, rolling her eyes at Cameron.
