Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113

“Ophelia, come on, for old times’ sake, you really ought to give the Vossen family a hand, Cameron pressed, his words carrying a hint of demand.

Ophelia’s lips curled into a cold smirk. ‘Guess the loving dad routine couldn’t even last a minute, she thought.

Ophelia let out a cold snort, her gaze frosty and her tone absolute. “Mr. Vossen, whatever happens to the Vossen family is none of my business. If you’re hoping I’ll bail you out, just give up on that idea for good.”

‘Old times? Seriously?’ Ophelia sneered to herself.

‘He’s got some nerve. I hope he chokes on it.’ she thought.

With that, Ophelia walked right past Cameron without even sparing him a glance and made her way to the stairs. “Ophelia! Wait up!” Cameron blurted out, panic flashing across his face as he instinctively hurried after her.

He was almost out of time. If the Vossen Group couldn’t find new investors soon, they’d be finished for good.

Ella blocked Cameron’s path, her gaze sharp with annoyance. “Mr. Vossen, we’ve got real business to handle. Stop pestering us, if you mess things up for us, you can’t afford the fallout.”

After all this pointless back-and-forth, their meeting with Mr. Lawson was just around the corner. No way were they sticking around for more of this nonsense.

“Ophelia, are you really this cold-blooded?” Cameron’s eyes grew dark, his voice strained as he barely kept his resentment in check.

Ella shot Cameron a furious glare, her teeth clenched. “Please, We could never be as cold-blooded as you and your family.” ‘You tossed Ophelia out the second you thought she was useless, and now you’ve got the nerve to play the victim and call her ruthless? If Ophelia hadn’t gone soft on you, the Vossen family would’ve crashed and burned a long time ago, Ella thought.

“Well, well, Ms. Prescott,” a cheerful male voice suddenly cut through the tense standoff.

Ella glanced up and saw Mr. Lawson strolling down the stairs at a relaxed pace.

“Mr. Lawson,” Ella gave him a courteous smile. “Sorry, something came up and held us back for a moment, we were just about to head upstairs.”

“No worries at all. I just wanted to come down and greet Ms. Draven myself,” Mr. Lawson replied with a polite smile. “Ms. Draven isn’t here yet, is she?”

He’d worked hard to set up this meeting with Ms. Draven, and since it was almost time, he came down to welcome her, only to find Ella standing there by herself.

Ella shot Ophelia a look, and Ophelia just nodded back at her.

At this point, there was no need to hide anything anymore.

Ella flashed a smug smile, deliberately shooting Cameron a look before announcing with obvious pride, “Mr. Lawson, this is our CEO, Rowan Draven.”

After having to bite her tongue for so many years, finally being able to let loose felt so damn good.

“Rowan Draven?!” Mr. Lawson followed Ella’s gaze and spotted Ophelia, his eyes widened in genuine surprise.

“Mr. Lawson, I’m Rowan Draven,” Ophelia announced, standing her ground with a confidence that lit up the whole room. She might look young, but nobody here could outshine her.
