Chapter 115
Layla turned to Ophelia, her eyes brimming with tears. “Ophelia, no matter what, Mom and Dad raised you. How could you break Dad’s heart like this?”
“Stop playing the saint,” Ella shot back with a cold laugh. “Everything the Vossen family has is thanks to Boss. Sure, they raised her, but she’s the one who’s been footing the bill for their fancy lifestyle all these years. Boss doesn’t owe them anything.”
Now that the masks were off, Ella wasn’t holding back anymore. After all these years of seeing Ophelia suffer, she just had to get it off her chest.
Stung by Ella’s words and at a loss, Layla could only keep pressing Ophelia, her voice thick with tears. “Ophelia, are you really just going to stand there and let her talk down to us?”
“You brought this on yourselves,” Ophelia replied, her eyes glinting with mockery and her tone frosty. “I’m not a Vossen, I’m a Rowle. So do me a favor and keep your distance from now on.”
‘Don’t bother showing up in front of me again. Just looking at you makes me sick,’ Ophelia sneered inwardly.

“Even so, you only just got back to the Rowle family. The money you took from the Vossen family is ours,” Layla snapped, her tone turning harsh when she saw Ophelia wasn’t giving in at all.
‘Ophelia is Rowan Draven? So she’s the investor Dad and Carter have been desperately trying to track down, the big shot who’s been keeping the Vossen Group afloat all this time, Layla realized, her mind spinning.
‘Ophelia can leave if she wants, but the money isn’t going anywhere,’ Layla thought, her gaze cold and calculating.
Ophelia let out a cold, mocking laugh, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she shot back at Layla, “Looks like your fake little mask just got ripped off.”
Layla’s face stiffened, but she forced herself to keep going. “You’re the one who’s gone too far.”
Ophelia shook her head with a mocking sigh. “Unlike you, I didn’t spend my life whining about being born to a janitor.
“The Vossen family never cared about me, but I fought for everything myself. What I have now is mine, and it’s got nothing to do with you people.”
Meeting Ophelia’s clear, unwavering gaze, Layla felt her face burn with shame and anger.
Ophelia turned to Cameron, her gaze cold and merciless. “See? This is the real face of the Vossen family.
“The moment you find out I’m Rowan Draven, suddenly everything I own is supposed to be yours. Even Layla, who just came back, acts like she deserves it all just for showing up.”
She’d seen their shamelessness plenty of times before, leeching off her like it was their birthright, never even blinking.
“Boss, don’t even bother talking to them. Folks this shameless will never own up to anything,” Ella said, shooting Cameron and Layla a look of pure disdain. She leaned in and whispered to Ophelia, “Let’s head upstairs.”
“No!” Cameron stepped forward, his whole attitude flipping in an instant. “Ophelia, Dad was wrong, I’m sorry.
“But we’re still family, you can’t just turn your back on us when we’re in trouble. Please, listen to your dad and don’t pull your investment. If you keep the Vossen Group afloat, I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
“Oh, spare us the fairy tales,” Ella scrunched up her nose in disdain. “The hurt’s already done. You really think tossing out a promise to ‘make it up’ means none of this ever happened?”
