Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 116

Chapter 116

“I’m not your daughter, so save your cheap fatherly love, I couldn’t care less,” Ophelia sneered, her eyes icy.

“All these years, you acted like I didn’t even exist. Mom always played favorites and you just kept quiet. My brothers stole every chance I had to study and you just stood by.

“You let them throw me out of the house and even search me, and you never said a word. Now you come crawling back, pretending to care just because you need something from me. Seriously, how do you even have the nerve?”

Cameron was left speechless by Ophelia’s harsh words, but he could only plead with her, desperation in his voice. “Ophelia, as long as you don’t withdraw your investment, I’ll agree to anything you ask. Just name it.”

“Mr. Vossen, I’ve already done more than enough for the Vossen family. From now on, you’re on your own. Don’t come looking for me again,” Ophelia said coldly, not bothering with Cameron anymore.

She then turned to Mr. Lawson, giving him a slight apologetic nod. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Lawson. Let’s head upstairs.”

“Alright,” Mr. Lawson replied, his gaze on Ophelia filled with even more admiration.

At such a young age, she’d been through so much, but instead of wallowing in self-pity or complaining about fate, she’d fought her way to the top.

“Ophelia, wait! Please, just hear me out,” Cameron called, rushing after her. But Mr. Lawson blocked his way, his eyes cold and stern. “This isn’t the place for you to stir up trouble.”

“Mr. Lawson, please, could you try to talk some sense into Ophelia for me? I swear I’ve learned my lesson,” Cameron begged, his voice full of desperation.

He’d come here hoping to get Mr. Lawson’s support, and running into Ophelia was a surprise bonus. If he could somehow get in with the Rowle family, that would be a dream come true. But now, everything had totally backfired on him.

Mr. Lawson gave Cameron a disdainful look. “Don’t ever come looking for me again.”

With someone like Cameron, the wisest thing to do was not get involved at all, his behavior was downright disgusting.

“Ms. Draven, let’s go,” Mr. Lawson said, gesturing for Ophelia to head upstairs. Ella quickly followed after them.

“Hey…” Cameron tried to catch up, but Mr. Lawson shot a look at the security guards. They immediately stepped in, blocking his way and escorting him out of the club.

“Ugh!” Layla got tossed out right along with Cameron. The security guard was a little too rough, and she ended up sprawled on the floor.

The more Layla stewed, the more pissed she got. She gritted her teeth and spat, “Ophelia, why are you acting so smug? Just wait, I’ll get you for this!”

‘Big deal, your parents are loaded. Doesn’t mean you get to treat me like trash!’ Layla fumed to herself.

Cameron looked utterly crushed, his whole demeanor deflated and defeated.

He just couldn’t figure out how Ophelia had ended up as Rowan Draven, Vossen Group’s biggest investor.

From the look on her face, she truly despised them now. Cameron was at a loss. ‘Is there any way left to get her to help us and keep Vossen Group afloat?’ he wondered, feeling hopeless.

“Dad, what are we supposed to do now?” Layla protested, refusing to let Ophelia get away with humiliating them.

Cameron shot her a furious glare. “This is all on you! You’re nothing but trouble.”

If Layla hadn’t ticked off Ophelia from the start, maybe things wouldn’t be such a mess now.

Layla shrank back, protesting, “It’s not my fault! She’s just way too cunning. Dad, you have to find a way to make her cough up the money. That money was ours to begin with!”

Cameron’s eyes darkened. ‘She’s got a point,’ he thought.

This was going to take some scheming. He wasn’t going to rest until he got Ophelia’s investment back.

The next day.

Ophelia got up and headed downstairs.
