Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 141

141.Chapter 141

But right now, she had no choice but to apologize.

Zoe took a deep breath, doing her best to keep it together.

“Ophelia, I’m really sorry,” Zoe said in a defeated tone, her head drooping, she really did look like she regretted it.

“You’re sorry, huh?” Ophelia’s lips twisted into a frosty smirk as she strode right up to Zoe, making her flinch. Zoe’s face drained of color, and she blurted out, “Yes, I’m really sorry.”

Ophelia folded her arms, her eyes cold as ice as she stared Zoe down. “Whether you’re actually sorry or just faking it, I don’t

care.

“But let me remind you, using someone else’s photos without permission is straight-up illegal. And spreading rumors or slandering people? You could get slapped with a lawsuit.”

Zoe’s heart dropped, her face so pale she looked almost see-through. She didn’t doubt for a second that Ophelia would really call the cops on her.

“I’m really sorry, Ophelia. I swear I know I messed up. It’s just… you and Declan looked like such a power couple, and I lost my head for a second. Please, forgive me,” Zoe pleaded, sounding even more desperate, like she truly regretted it.

She was honestly terrified now, if she pissed Ophelia off any more, she could end up at the police station. That wouldn’t just ruin her reputation; it would Jeave a permanent black mark on her record, something she’d never be able to erase. But Ophelia just gave Zoe a noncommittal glance, then turned to Mr. Wells. “So, that’s it? We’re just calling it even?” Mr. Wells looked at Ophelia, suddenly struck by how commanding her presence was.

‘Looks like this whole mess really got to her,’ he thought. ‘No wonder Mr. Blackwell was so insistent about getting it sorted out fast.’

“Aside from Zoe’s apology, the school posted a statement on the forum to clear things up. Plus, Zoe’s been disqualified from the competition, it’s already up on the forum,” Mr. Wells explained truthfully.

Ophelia nodded, finally satisfied.

‘So, she’s really been disqualified from the competition, Ophelia mused to herself.

‘For that fake innocent, that’s more than enough punishment.’

“Mr. Wells, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going,” Ophelia said, now that she’d gotten what she came for. She still had things to do.

“Alright, you can go,” Mr. Wells said, wanting to offer some comfort, but seeing how composed Ophelia was, he just nodded in appreciation.

Ophelia turned and left the office, heading back to her classroom.

When Zoe heard about the school’s punishment, she was frozen in place, like she’d just been zapped by a thunderbolt.

‘I’ve been disqualified from the competition?’ Zoe thought, her brain short circuited.

‘Seriously? The school’s really throwing the book at me just for Ophelia? If I can’t compete in the math competition, how am

I supposed to show everyone I’m better than her?’ Zoe felt utterly defeated.

‘Talk about losing everything and then some, she thought, feeling like she’d just taken a double hit.
