Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 143

143.Chapter 143

Yeah, Ophelia was engaged, to none other than Alaric Caldwell, the CEO of Caldwell Group, Dunhollow’s top heartthrob and the most eligible bachelor every girl dreamed about.

“Remember now?” Ophelia scoffed, her tone full of condescension. “Seriously, use your brain next time. Don’t embarrass the Rowle family in public. We’re the Rowle heiresses, we don’t need to throw ourselves at anyone.”

Ophelia couldn’t tell if Daphne was really that clueless or just pretending. She kept accusing Ophelia of throwing herself at people, like putting her down would somehow make Daphne look better.

‘What a fool, Ophelia thought.

‘A brainless firecracker,’ she added to herself.

Daphne couldn’t explain why, but Ophelia’s presence was so intense that she felt a wave of pressure and instinctively swallowed hard.

“Just wait, your smug attitude won’t last. When Felicity comes back, you’ll get what’s coming to you,” Daphne jutted her chin out, refusing to let Ophelia have the last word.

But her tough act was already slipping, making her look almost laughable.

Ophelia shot her a look of pure annoyance. ‘Can’t believe I have to deal with someone like her. What a pain, she thought. Once Daphne quieted down, Ophelia walked over to her car, ready to leave.

Daphne glared daggers at Ophelia’s back, fuming. “Let’s see how long you can keep acting all high and mighty. Hmph.” “Daphne,” Zoe called out, her face dark with frustration as she stepped forward

“Why are you so hopeless? Why did you even bother apologizing to her? Honestly, she was totally flirting with Declan on purpose,” Daphne snapped, her voice dripping with disdain.

“But it really was my fault. I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions about them,” Zoe sniffled, her regret written all over her face.

“What kind of relationship could they possibly have? Do you really think Declan would ever go for her?” Daphne scoffed, her face full of disbelief.

‘Ophelia must’ve been throwing herself at him, and now even Mr. Blackwell is sick of her. She embarrassed herself big time,’ Daphne thought.

Zoe shook her head, hesitating. “That’s not something I should be worrying about.”

Daphne rolled her eyes, her voice dripping with contempt. “Yeah, that’s definitely not your problem. Maybe you should get your useless brain checked out or something.”

Zoe lowered her head, letting out a sad sigh. “Doesn’t matter if my brain works or not. Not like I’ll need it for anything now.” “What do you mean?” Daphne asked, her confusion written all over her face.

‘Is this useless girl really so crushed that she’s thinking about doing something crazy?’ Daphne wondered.

“I got disqualified from the competition. I was hoping to do well and make Mom and Dad proud, but looks like that’s something only Ophelia can pull off,” Zoe said, her voice full of disappointment.

“Please, like she’ll actually get a good result,” Daphne scoffed, her face full of contempt.

“No way, Ophelia totally took first place in the prelims,” Zoe said, her eyes full of admiration.

Daphne’s lips curled into a nasty smirk. “Let’s just make sure she can’t go to the training camp. Then let’s see her try to win anything.”

Zoe stared at her, stunned. “Isn’t that a bit much?”

“What’s so bad about it?” Daphne shot her a warning glare. “And don’t you dare breathe a word of this. I want Ophelia to be humiliated, let’s see how long she keeps acting all superior.”

Zoe just pressed her lips together, too scared and conflicted to say anything.

Daphne looked at her, even more disgusted by Zoe’s cowardly attitude.

“You’re so useless. I can’t even stand the sight of you,” Daphne huffed, then stormed off.
