Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 159

159 Chapter 159

159.Chapter 159

Oliver asked, “Are you really okay?”

“Yeah, don’t worry, Oliver. I’m fine,” Ophelia said softly, nodding. She knew he genuinely cared about her.

“But…” Oliver frowned, thinking for a moment before saying, “Since there’s a safety issue, I’ll get that car sorted out. Tomorrow, just head to the dealership and pick up a new one. I’ll let them know you’re coming.”

Ophelia blinked in surprise. ‘Wait, is Oliver really getting me another car?’

“No, that’s really not necessary,” Ophelia replied with an awkward smile, but inside, her heart was touched.

It really wasn’t the car’s fault, but Oliver didn’t hesitate for a second before deciding to get her a new one. He always acted so aloof, yet the way he looked out for her made Ophelia’s heart feel warm and fuzzy.

“Another one?!” Zoe shot up from her seat, her voice ringing with disbelief.

‘Wait, this isn’t right, Zoe thought, her mind spinning.

‘Shouldn’t he be exposing Ophelia’s lie?’ she wondered.

‘Why isn’t Oliver even questioning her? He just jumps straight to buying her a new car, Zoe fumed.

‘It’s a car, not a toy! Oliver is spoiling Ophelia way too much, Zoe thought, jealousy simmering inside her.

Zoe had always been treated like a princess in the Rowle family, everyone doted on her. But honestly, no one had ever gone this far for her, not even close. Watching Oliver bend over backwards for Ophelia, Zoe couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.

Oliver frowned, clearly annoyed. “What’s with all the drama?”

Zoe choked, her face turning even paler as she put on her best helpless look. “Sorry, Oliver. I just got carried away for a second. I’ll watch myself next time.”

Oliver just gave her a cool nod and didn’t bother to say anything else.

“Zoe, what are you getting so worked up about?” Owen said calmly, clearly siding with Oliver. “If the car’s got issues, of course we can’t drive it. That’s a serious safety risk.”

But to Zoe, Owen’s words felt like a jab, mocking her for making a fuss and being petty, as if she didn’t care about Ophelia’s safety at all.

Zoe was so frustrated she felt like she could cough up blood. Her expression was a mess of emotions, her face changing colors like a painter’s palette.

“Owen, Zoe didn’t mean it like that,” Chloe said with a gentle smile, jumping in to smooth things over.

“She’s just happy seeing Oliver care so much about Ophelia. After all, Ophelia’s been through a lot out there for years. Now that she’s back, we should all be extra protective and look after her.”

Ophelia arched her brow, a trace of sarcasm curling at her lips.

She saw right through Chloe’s words, sure, she was covering for Zoe, but she was also subtly putting Ophelia in her place.

‘So now that I’m officially back as the Rowle family’s daughter, I’m supposed to keep my head down, not hog all the attention, and leave some for Zoe?’ Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes inwardly.

‘Ha, as if Zoe ever left me any room,’ Ophelia scoffed to herself.

She’d never had a problem with having a sister, but Zoe just couldn’t stop picking fights. ‘Sorry, but I’m not the type to let someone walk all over me; Ophelia thought, her resolve steely.

Owen glanced at Chloe, she was still smiling like always. He turned away and said, “This has nothing to do with whether Ophelia had it tough before or not. She just deserves the best, that’s all there is to it.”
