Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 163

163 Chapter 163

163.Chapter 163

“What are you guys doing out here? Why aren’t you going in?” Zoe forced herself to sound concerned, not wanting to come off as too blunt.

Daphne bit her lip, clearly annoyed, then finally turned to the others and said, “You guys go in first.”

“Okay.” Since they’d already gotten what they wanted, they just walked off without caring.

Once the others had left, Daphne pulled Zoe aside and said, “She agreed.”

“Seriously? She agreed?” Zoe blurted out, a little shocked even though this was exactly what she’d hoped for. ‘Wow, that was way easier than I thought, she thought to herself.

“She agreed, okay? Why are you making that face? Don’t you believe me?” Daphne shot Zoe an annoyed glare.

For some reason, Daphne just felt something was off, she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

It wasn’t that rush of victory at all. Instead, she felt unsettled, almost irritated.

No way was she telling Zoe about any of this. After all, she’d really made Ophelia quit the training program.

Zoe was caught off guard by Daphne’s outburst, but then she smiled and said, “That’s not what I meant. It’s a good thing she agreed.”

“Hmph.” Daphne shot Zoe a look of pure disdain, then strutted off with her head held high.

Watching Daphne walk away, Zoe curled her lips in contempt before following after her.

In what felt like a blink, the school day was over.

Ophelia slung her backpack over one shoulder and strolled through the campus with effortless cool.

“Ophelia.” A warm voice called out to her.

She turned at the sound and saw Declan.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow, a hint of confusion in her voice. “What’s up, Declan?”

By the time Ophelia finished speaking, Declan was already standing right in front of her.

People passing by kept shooting them curious looks. No one said a word, but one could tell they were dying to know what was going on.

Declan paused, a slight frown on his face, and spoke quietly, “Let’s talk somewhere else.”

He hadn’t really thought it through. Last time, people misunderstood him and even started threads about him on the school forum, but he just let it slide, figuring it would die down eventually.

But now that he was the one going up to Ophelia, he knew it’d probably get people talking again.

With more and more students passing by, he decided it was better to take Ophelia somewhere else. He didn’t want to cause another commotion like before, and that wouldn’t do Ophelia any favors, either.

“Why?” Ophelia asked, sounding genuinely puzzled. ‘If got something to say, just spit it out, she thought.

She really didn’t see the point, it’s not like there was anything between her and Declan that needed a heart-to-heart. Whatever he wanted, it was probably just a couple of words. Why bother going somewhere else?

Seeing how completely unbothered Ophelia was by all the people around, Declan paused for a moment before explaining, “I just don’t want to cause any more rumors or trouble.”
