Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 180

180 Chapter 180

180.Chapter 180

“Declan really came by every single day just to bring me these?” Ophelia was honestly surprised, feeling something she couldn’t quite name stirring inside her.

“Well, well, look who finally decided to show up. I thought you’d dropped out for good, Daphne sneered as she walked over to Ophelia, glancing at the stack of papers in her hands and curling her lip. “Last-minute cramming, huh? That’s desperate.” Honestly, Daphne never thought Ophelia would ditch school completely after dropping out of the training class.

‘Does she think she’s got some kind of superpower or something, just clutching those papers like that?’ Daphne scoffed to herself.

Ophelia shoved the papers into Daphne’s arms, her gaze icy. “Here, take them. Maybe you need to soak up some knowledge. Your head looks pretty empty.”

Daphne snapped, gritting her teeth. “Are you seriously mocking me for getting booted from the team?”

‘Seriously? She knows I can’t even compete, so why shove the competition stuff at me?’ Daphne fumed.

Ophelia shook her head, putting on a straight face. “Even if you’re not competing, you should still practice. If you let your brain sit unused, it’s just going to get rusty.”

Soft snickers rippled through the crowd, and Daphne’s face went from pale to red with anger and humiliation.

“Ophelia, you ditched school for a whole week and you still have the nerve to act all smug?” Daphne shouted, totally losing

“Skipped school? Who said I was skipping?” Ophelia shot back, raising an eyebrow. Sure, she didn’t come to class much, but she’d already cleared it with Connor.

“You didn’t even bother to get permission, just vanished for days. What else is that if not skipping?” Daphne sneered, tilting her chin up. “Just wait till Jameson Wells shows up. I can’t wait to see you try to talk your way out of this.”

“Knock yourself out,” Ophelia replied with a shrug, looking completely unfazed.

Daphne scowled, clearly pissed. ‘Seriously? She’s still playing it cool? She has to be faking it; Daphne thought.

“Mr. Wells is coming!” someone called out, and everyone quickly scrambled to their seats. Daphne hurried back to hers too.

“Quick announcement, folks. If you’re in the competition tomorrow, just head straight to the test room. Here are your exam passes,” Jameson said as he walked in, handing them out to everyone.

When Jameson just glanced at Ophelia and said nothing, Daphne couldn’t hold back anymore. She stood up and called out, “Mr. Wells, Ophelia’s been skipping school without any excuse. Are you just going to let her get away with it?”

“She had permission,” Jameson cut her off, frowning in annoyance.

“No way,” Daphne snapped, sounding absolutely certain. “I checked-she doesn’t have any note from you.”

Jameson’s face grew even darker. “Did you seriously sneak into my office and rummage through my desk?”

‘She’s always been kind of bossy, but now she’s got the nerve to break into my office?’ Jameson thought, his annoyance flaring.

Daphne looked a little guilty for a moment, but then, thinking Ophelia’s offense was way worse, she straightened up and insisted, “Mr. Wells, shouldn’t Ophelia get a serious punishment for this? Maybe even expelled?”

Yeah, maybe she’d broken the rules too, but compared to Ophelia, her own mistake was nothing.

“I already told you, she had permission. Just sit down,” Jameson said, clearly annoyed but not wanting to deal with it right now. He turned to Ophelia and added, “Just keep it steady tomorrow.”
