196 Chapter 196

196.Chapter 196

“Whatever’s going on, it’s got nothing to do with you. Stop showing up in front of me for no reason. It’s annoying and gives me a headache,” Ophelia said, her eyes cold with disgust.

Maxwell’s face turned red and pale with a mix of anger and embarrassment, jaw clenched so tight it looked like he might crack a tooth. “Ophelia, when did you get so cruel?”

“Cruel?” Ella blinked hard, her eyes wide with shock. “Are you serious right now?”

‘Wow, talk about flipping the blame. Since when did Ophelia become the villain in this mess?’ Ella thought, rolling her eyes so hard she nearly saw her brain.

“Cut the act. You think I don’t see what you’re doing? You keep saying you’re done with the Vossen family, acting like you want nothing to do with us, but behind the scenes, you’re pulling every trick you can to mess us up!”

Maxwell’s voice was shaking with rage, like he was the one getting wronged here.

Since Ophelia wasn’t giving them any chance to back out, Maxwell decided to drop all pretenses. He was here to air it all out and make her pay. Today, he was settling the score, no matter what.

“Boss, what’s going on?” Ella was totally confused, like she’d missed the plot entirely.

Ophelia’s eyes narrowed, her voice dropping to a cold, shadowy tone. “Me? Mess you up?”

“You still won’t admit it?” Maxwell snapped, his face stormy with rage. “I just signed with the Lawson family’s talent agency, and you went and had Mr. Lawson shut the company down. You need to fix this, right now, or I’m not letting this go.”

When Maxwell found out the company was shutting down, it felt like his whole world had just collapsed.

‘I was so close, just one step away from making it big!’ he thought, his heart twisting with frustration.

But Ophelia snuffed out his big break before it even started. Maxwell was so pissed, he could barely stand the sight of her.

Now he was demanding Ophelia take the blame. He wanted answers, and he wanted them right this second.

“Who even are you to boss her around? You think she owes you anything? Have you lost it?” Ella’s eyes went wide, totally floored by his nerve. ‘Seriously, does he think the world revolves around him?’

‘And he keeps calling Ophelia cruel? This is what he’s whining about?’ Ella nearly shorted.

‘Honestly, who’s the real piece of work here?’ Ella thought, rolling her eyes in disgust.

‘Isn’t it twisted to force someone to do what they don’t want?’ Ella thought, rolling her eyes in disbelief.

‘Seriously, he’s acting like a straight-up crook!’ Ella scoffed, shaking her head.

Ophelia had seen this shameless side of the Vossen family way too many times. She gave them a frosty look. “It’s got nothing to do with me, and it’s not my problem.”

“How can you say that? You totally did this on purpose! I asked for your help before and you shot me down, and now you’re trying to finish me off for good? Just ruin me completely?” Maxwell fumed, his face flushed with anger.

Ella scrunched up her nose at Maxwell’s accusations. ‘What a ridiculous accusation. This is just peak drama.’

“Ruin you on purpose? Oh, please, don’t flatter yourself. Who’s got the time to care about you? Mr. Lawson came to us for a deal, and whatever talent agency of his signed some random wannabe, how is that our problem?”

Ella rolled her eyes so hard she nearly saw her brain. ‘Seriously, what a mess to get dragged into for no reason.’
