Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 198

198 Chapter 198

198.Chapter 198

‘Since she’s refusing to help us, I’m making sure she pays up big time today. No way I’m walking out of here with nothing; Cameron thought.

Ella stared at Cameron, completely stunned. “Mr. Vossen, have you totally lost it?”

‘Talk about twisting the truth. He’s turning everything upside down, Ella thought, shaking her head.

‘With storytelling skills like that, he should be writing Hollywood scripts instead. Seriously, what a waste of talent, Ella scoffed inwardly.

“Hmph, we can always get a medical report,” Cameron sneered, hell-bent on pinning this on Ophelia.

Maxwell was already injured, and it happened right in front of Maplewood Capital. With only the four of them around, they could make up whatever story they wanted and no one would be the wiser.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow at Cameron, her tone laced with curiosity. “So, Mr. Vossen, what exactly do you expect me to do about it?”

Hearing that, Cameron felt a bit smug. ‘Ha, looks like this little brat’s finally getting scared, he thought to himself.

“I know you don’t think much of the Vossen Group, and I’m not gonna force you to invest. Just let us have a small project, and we’ll call it even.”

Cameron said, puffing himself up like he had Ophelia totally under his thumb. He put on this fake magnanimous act, acting like he was being super generous, as if Ophelia owed him big time.

“That’s all?” Ophelia pressed, her tone calm and unbothered.

Cameron nodded, full of self-importance. “Exactly.”

If he had his way, Ophelia would be pouring money into the Vossen Group right now. But he knew that was just wishful thinking, so he’d settle for a consolation prize-a small project.

After all, even the tiniest project from Ophelia was a lifeline for the Vossen Group these days. As long as he got a chance to catch his breath, he was sure he could claw his way back to the top!

Ophelia was just curious to see how far Cameron would go with his shameless demands-and he really outdid himself.

‘This family only ever thinks about themselves. Their son’s lying there injured, and all they care about is scoring a project, Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes.

When Ophelia didn’t respond after her question, Cameron’s frown deepened. “Why are you just standing there? What are you trying to say?”

“Nothing to say,” Ophelia replied, looking completely bored. “You two might as well head out now. If you keep dragging your feet, his ‘injury’ might just heal itself before you even get to the hospital.”

“You got me fired, trashed my future, and now you’ve wrecked my face. And you seriously expect me to just let this go?” Maxwell shouted, practically shaking with fury.

Man, talk about a rough start. Maxwell had hoped he could at least squeeze some cash out of this mess, but in the end, he walked away with absolutely nothing.

“Not satisfied?” Ophelia frowned slightly, thought for a second, then nodded. “Fine, let’s get the police involved and see what they have to say.”

“Wait, you’re really calling the police?” Cameron and Maxwell just stared at Ophelia, totally dumbfounded. They had no clue what she was up to.

“What else did you expect?” Ophelia said, idly fiddling with her phone, looking totally unconcerned. “You two tried to assault me, tried to shake me down, and you’re not even sorry about it. Honestly, this is exactly the kind of mess the police should sort out.”

“What the hell are you talking about? I’m the one who’s hurt here!” Maxwell blurted out, his voice cracking with panic. “Don’t you dare! Are you seriously trying to flip the script and blame me for this?”

Ophelia gestured toward the security camera mounted above the entrance. “Why don’t you ask that thing up there. Let’s see who’s really trying to play the victim here?”

Cameron staggered when he spotted the secu
