Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 199

199 Chapter 199

199.Chapter 199

They were shameless, so they’ve got no one to blame but themselves.

“Dad, what do we do now?” Maxwell was sweating bullets, and every drop that slid into his wound made him grimace in pain.

He couldn’t let himself get caught. If someone snapped a photo of him, he’d be finished for good.

Cameron’s face turned grim. He really didn’t expect Ophelia to have another card up her sleeve.

No wonder she’d stayed so calm. He thought she’d caved, but she’d already lined up her backup plan.

‘That girl’s really something else, Cameron thought. ‘We’re not getting anything out of her today, that’s for sure.

They’d totally shot themselves in the foot, but all he could do now was accept defeat.

“Just you wait,” Cameron muttered, slinking away with Maxwell in tow.

Ella clicked her tongue in disdain. “With skills like that, they really thought they could take on our Boss? They seriously don’ t know their place.”

As the father and son walked away, Ophelia’s gaze darkened slightly.

“Boss, you think Cameron’s done pretending to be the caring dad just to get under our skin?” Ella said, a look of disgust crossing her face at the thought of his act.

Ophelia gave a noncommittal look and turned away. “Let’s go eat.”

Ella grumbled, “It’s their fault we missed lunch. I can’t believe they actually lurked outside all morning.”

‘They sure have patience,’ Ella thought. ‘If you didn’t know better, you’d think they actually cared about each other. But in the end, it’s all for their own gain.’

Ophelia just smirked, totally unfazed. “They’ve got nowhere else to go, so they had to go all in.”

Funny how Cameron’s shown more patience with her than anyone else in his life. And now, it’s just plain ironic.

Meanwhile, on the other side…

Cameron and Maxwell had already made it back to the car..

“Damn, that crazy girl’s lost it,” Maxwell fussed over his wound in the mirror, frustration all over his face. “If this leaves a scar, how am I supposed to keep my career alive in showbiz?”

“Hmph!” Cameron’s eyes went cold as he gritted his teeth. “If she’s hell-bent on kicking us when we’re down, then she’d better not blame me for playing dirty.”

“Dad, just forget about her for now! Get me to the hospital first. If I end up disfigured, my career’s over!” Maxwell urged, panic rising in his voice.

Ophelia wasn’t going anywhere anyway. Right now, his face was all that mattered.

Cameron shot Maxwell a glare. “You’re hopeless. Not only did you lose to her, but you made a complete fool of yourself. If I’ d known you’d embarrass me and drag me down like this, I never would’ve brought you.”

“I’m already in bad shape, and you’re still yelling at me?” Maxwell complained, feeling miserable. “How was I supposed to know Ophelia would turn so cold, like she doesn’t give a damn about family anymore? She used to be nothing like this.” Back then, Ophelia was always so obedient. Whatever we wanted, she’d just give it to us, no questions asked. Who could’ve guessed she’d not only stop listening to me, but actually dare to hit me now!

Cameron’s eyes flashed with a poisonous rage as he snarled, “She wants to cut us off? We’ll see if I let her get away with that.”

Now that things had come to this, he wasn’t about to go easy on her.
