Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 201

201 Chapter 201

201.Chapter 201

“Oh, come on, you two aren’t strangers. Why are you acting so formal with all this ‘classmate’ and ‘senior’ stuff? Honestly, it’ s even awkward for me to listen to you two.” Connor said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Just use each other’s names, it’s way more natural.”

Connor thought to himself, ‘This is the first time I’ve seen Declan actually care about a girl. Looks like something’s finally happening. Time to stir the pot a little.’

“Connor, this is just how we are. I think calling each other like this suits us just fine,” Ophelia said, her eyes calm and her tone totally matter-of-fact.

She knew exactly what Connor was trying to do, so she wasn’t about to give him the chance.

Connor’s mouth twitched. ‘This crafty girl. She shot me down so smoothly, I can’t even argue with her.’

“Oh, come on, that’s totally different,” Connor said, shaking his head. “At school, you guys are just classmates, but here you both randomly run into each other in my hospital room. Now that’s what I call fate! You gotta appreciate moments like this.”

“Connor, that’s not even how you use the word ‘fate’,” Ophelia couldn’t help but roll her eyes, half amused, half helpless.

‘Seriously, we’ve barely exchanged three sentences and he’s already up to his old tricks, Ophelia thought.

“Why not? Running into each other is already fate, and you two just happened to meet by chance. That’s what I call being on the same wavelength,” Connor insisted, sounding absolutely sure of himself.

“Alright, alright, don’t get too excited, Connor. Watch your health,” Ophelia said, giving in with a helpless shake of her head.” Fate it is, if you say so. Whatever you say, you’re the boss.”

It’s not like that actually proves anything. If just bumping into someone counts as fate, then everyone on the street would be destined to meet every single day.

Seeing how half-hearted Ophelia was being, Connor sighed helplessly. “Are you roasting me in your head right now?”

Ophelia immediately put on a sweet, obedient smile. “Nope, just going along with whatever you say, Connor.”

“Hmph, you really think I’d buy that?” Connor snorted. With that kind of half-hearted attitude, anyone could tell she was just too lazy to argue with him.

“What else?” Ophelia shrugged, looking all innocent and a little smug. ‘Not like you can do anything about it, she thought.

Connor chuckled, unable to hide the affection in his voice. “You mischievous girl, I really can’t do anything with you.”

Ophelia’s smile lit up her eyes, and anyone could see how effortlessly the two of them got along.

Declan watched Ophelia’s lively, impish expression, and before he realized it, he said, “Then I’ll just call you Ophelia from now on.”

Ophelia glanced up at him, a bit surprised, meeting his clear eyes. She shrugged, totally unconcerned. “Sure, whatever. You decide, Declan.”

‘It’s just a name anyway. Call me whatever you want.’ Ophelia thought.

Declan looked genuinely pleased, a faint smile flickering in his eyes. “You can call me Declan, if you want.”

Ophelia shook her head right away, instinctively refusing. “I think I’ll just stick with ‘senior.”

Honestly, calling him by his name just felt too weird. It was way too awkward for her.

The smile in Declan’s eyes slowly faded, and his voice lost some of its warmth. “Whatever works for you.”

Something he couldn’t put into words. He just couldn’t shake off that weird heaviness inside.
