Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 210

210 Chapter 210

210.Chapter 210

Ophelia shot him a glare, muttering through gritted teeth, “Can you let go of me now?”

‘He just can’t keep his hands off me. Dragged me all the way here with his arm around my waist, pretending it’s all for show, Ophelia fumed inwardly.

‘Like I ever agreed to play along, she thought, rolling her eyes.

Even without him, she wouldn’t let anyone walk all over her.

Alaric lowered his gaze, a trace of reluctance in his eyes, but he knew better than to push her right now.

“Of course, they’re gone now. No one’s watching,” he said, finally letting go of her waist. His arm hung awkwardly in the air for a second before he managed a wry smile.

As the warmth at her waist faded, Ophelia’s eyes lowered briefly.

He was helping her, and she knew he was playing games, but somehow, she didn’t really want to pull away…

“What’s on your mind?” Alaric couldn’t help but ask when he saw Ophelia spacing out.

Alaric motioned for her to take a seat. “Let’s order.”

Ophelia nodded, sat down, and picked up the menu to start ordering.

Alaric sat across from her, pouring her a glass of water, handing her a napkin, and keeping an eye on her, making sure she was comfortable the whole time.

As Alaric’s arm kept moving in front of her, Ophelia’s mind kept replaying the feeling of him holding her close just moments

ago.

“Ophelia?” Alaric asked softly, sounding a little confused. “What’s got you so distracted? Why’d you stop ordering?”

She glanced up and met his deep eyes, suddenly realizing what he’d said. A hint of fluster crossed her face and she quickly shook her head. “It’s nothing. That’s all I want.”

“That’s really not enough,” Alaric said, frowning as he took the menu from her. “Is there nothing here you like?”

“No, it’s all good. I just don’t eat much,” Ophelia tried to play it cool, but she was clearly forcing it.

“But… one dish for two people is way too little. The portions here are tiny,” Alaric explained, still trying to get her to order

more.

“Wait, what?” Ophelia blinked, totally thrown. ‘Did I really just order one thing? How spaced out was I?’ ‘Seriously, how long was I zoning out? I even forgot to order,’ she thought, feeling a little embarrassed. Seeing her get all flustered and dodging his gaze, Alaric couldn’t help but let a faint smirk tug at his lips.

After quickly ordering another dish, he gave Ophelia a knowing look. “Were you distracted just now because you were sneaking glances at me?”

“Of course not! I was looking at the menu, not you, seriously,” Ophelia blurted out, but she still couldn’t bring herself to meet his eyes.

She was terrified he’d notice how nervous she was, and honestly, she had no clue how to explain it. Even she couldn’t figure out why she kept thinking about how it felt when he held her just moments ago. “Your eyes are on the menu, but your mind’s wandering to me, huh?” Alaric teased, refusing to let it go. He didn’t know exactly what was up, but he was sure it had something to do with him.

“I was just ordering food,” Ophelia stubbornly insisted, refusing to admit anything.

“And in the end, you only ordered one thing,” Alaric called her out, not buying it for a second.

Ophelia’s cheeks flushed, and she shot him a glare. “Just shut up.”

She could tell Alaric was deliberately trying to make her confess. He probably already guessed it had something to do with him. ‘He’s got a thousand tricks up his sleeve, she thought.

“Heh, look at you getting all shy, Ophelia. Alright, I’ll be good and keep my mouth shut,” Alaric teased, letting it go for now.

He knew for sure she was thinking about him anyway.
